Beautiful Girl focuses on Melanie, an actress living in LA, with an overbearing out of touch mother and a hatred for the way her mother has turned her into what she wished she could of been. But when Melanie is dreaming up ways to tell her mother she no longer wants to be an actress and model, she's involved in a terrible car accident that leaves her face disfigured. Her mother freaks and takes her to the best plastic surgeon in town, who says she must wait until the end of summer so her face can heal. Her mother forbids her from letting anyone see her, which only makes her depression worse. When she disobeys her mother and invites a friend over, her mother flees with her to Montana so she can hide away until the end of summer. But romance may get in the way of her mothers future plans, along with other suspenseful twists and turns. What you think is a typical simple and short story is anything but.
