War in fairy leaks into the mortal world, half a billion people die of unexplained plagues. Society breaks down to some extent. Food is scarce, taxes are not being paid, but cell phones and electricity are still working and TV is still being broadcasted. Not a believable at all. Good plot idea, but the execution of the plot did not satisfy me. Important plot point happen in the off instead of being shown and adding some suspense. Or developments in the plot are not explained at all and you wonder if you missed a page with an explanation.
