More than Neighbors
Book 1 in the Blackberry Bay series.

Meredith's husband died a few years ago and she decides to move back home to Blackberry Bay with her daughter. When she arrives, her new neighbor is not the sweet old lady she thought, but a man her age- who likes to argue with everything she says. But there is also an attraction behind her consternation. Is she ready to move on?

I enjoyed the setting a lot. I always love series set in small towns where the community is part of the book. Both Cam and Meredith have issues to overcome, which is what causes the tension. I think Evelyn, the cat, was my favorite character. A solid read for some escapism.

Their Christmas Baby Contract

Book 2 in the Blackberry Bay series. Would work as a stand alone.

Reyna is hell on men- everyone says it. But she desperately wants a baby. So she asks a childhood friend- who she has avoided after a disastrous one night stand with him a few years ago- to be the father. But, in order to make it believable to their nosy town, they pretend to date. Except Brady has been in love with Reyna since first grade.

I really enjoyed Brady and Reyna's story- except for the part where the plot leaned a little too far to the ridiculous for me. If you take out the fact that she hates him yet asks to have his baby, I like the rest. Their back story, the fact that he has been in love with her forever, I like it all (except for the baby contract).

The Home They Built

Book 3 in the Blackberry Bay series. Would technically work as a stand alone, but you get some back story in book 2 that makes it worth reading.

Finn's grandmother has been selected for a renovation by a TV series- by lying to them- claiming her home is an inn. The morning they are to begin filming, she forces the family to show up and lie for her. Anna is the host- and she knows it is all a lie. But she chose them because she has a reason for wanting to come to Blackberry Bay- it is where her birth mother is from.

The fact that everyone was lying was funny, but also got old. The whole lying plot was the worst part of the book- First of all, why was it necessary? The show could have renovated an old house. They mostly did businesses, but why not make a change? Also, of course it would come out. A whole town can't lie for weeks.

Tatiana Sokolov narrates- she more commonly narrates as Tanya Eby. She is always a solid narrator.

I received an advance audio copy in exchange for an honest review.

Three heartwarming stories about starting over or finding your own HEA no matter the obstacles. Shannon Stacey has pit together a wonderful collection that have great characters and storylines that will put a smile on your face. The narrator brought the characters to life and the time spent listening was relaxing and enjoyable. This collections are exactly what you need to listen to if HEAs are your jam.
