This book was a good time but it felt very similar to The Perfect Marriage> I will admit when I went in I said to myself, "If in the end it was Sarah as the mastermind again I'm going to be mad" and unfortunately that was the case. Even though the plot was different in some ways it still felt like the same book. I did love the full cast audio book and that made it engaging.

I will admit that The Perfect Marriage wasn’t my favorite book by Jeneva Rose, but this one was so much better and completely made up for the things in that one I didn’t love. I listened to the audiobook for this one and I liked the narration quite a bit. This was full of twists and turns and while I expected pretty much all of them, I still enjoyed the wild ride. Sarah’s second marriage is also ending, this one she is ending with divorce. Bob is not pleased with this turn of events and is desperate to earn her forgiveness. But their past is also coming back to the forefront as new evidence suggests it’s possible that Sarah’s first husband didn’t kill the woman he was convicted and put to death for killing. This is full of drama and deceit and I enjoyed it. Overall I gave it 4.5 stars rounded up for being a fun ride.

This one gets five decadent stars!
I was so excited to see this book and its stunning cover! To gear up for the release, I revisited "The Perfect Marriage." When I received an ALC of "The Perfect Divorce" from Blackstone Audio, I was over the moon! A huge shoutout to them! Jeneva Rose has quickly become one of my top authors, and I adore following her on Instagram—her hilarious videos always put a smile on my face! I'd love to be one of the customers to find one of her secretly signed books.

Her writing captivates me because of her ability to bring life to her characters, especially in the audiobook versions. They always feature incredible narrators!

Sarah is such an interesting character—manipulative and cold-hearted, yet there is something about her that I can't help but admire! She's clever enough to outsmart anyone who stands in her way.

This thrilling sequel is a freaking wild ride! Heads up—if you haven't read Book #1, STOP HERE!! There are spoilers below!

It's been eleven years since Sarah defended Adam for the horrific murder of his mistress. That was a crazy trip!

At the end of "The Perfect Marriage," Sarah threw us a curveball by getting pregnant by Bob Miller, her super arrogant coworker (ugh, seriously?!). She marries him, but surprise, she’s divorcing him because he had an affair. Oh, Bob! Didn't you learn anything from watching Adam's life spiral into a nightmare? Speaking of Adam, his murder conviction is reopened while Sarah’s in the middle of her messy divorce. Talk about drama!

The character development is amazing, and it's entrancing to watch Sarah's past and present collide. This book is a gripping suspense with unforgettable characters.

Thanks to the author and Blackstone Audio for the ALC provided via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

Sarah is drawing attention again just like she was 11 years ago when her husband was murdered. She is a defense attorney and defended him in court when he was on trial for murder. Now, she is remarried and has a daughter. The old murder case has been reopened and she is running scared.

To top it all off, her current husband Bob, has had a one night stand and Sarah is not going to tolerate it. She has filed for divorce. All hell breaks loose and the hatred between them is escalating, including the fact that his one night stand gal is now missing.

The first book, The Perfect Marriage, was such a great psychological thriller that I wasn’t sure how the second one would play out. It was just as great or better! This is a devious powerhouse of a book! Wow. In addition to the book being fabulous, I listened to it, which brought such force to the story. Mozhan Navabi, Andrew Eiden, Adam Lazzare-White, J.S. Arquin, Brittany Pressey, and Andy Arndt are all phenomenal. I especially like Adam Lazzare-White’s voice, but all of them were perfect!

I recommend reading both books, but Jeneva Rose does a great job of incorporating the first book into the second one. Therefore, those reading just the second one can fully enjoy the story.

The Perfect Divorce by Jeneva Rose
4/5 🌟 pub 4/15/2025

This sequel delivered !! I quickly was able to get back into Sarah’s life with this one and she at it again, trying to divorce her current husband due to his one night stand. Her writing style is the perfect mix of dark and leading with apt descriptions.

We pick up 12 years later and her ex was executed on death row and her current husband Bob, also a lawyer in her firm, is caught cheating so she filed for divorce. It’s multiple perspectives throughout with the sherif, bob, and an unknown kidnap victim, Sarah. The way the story connects is so brilliant and since we know the protagonist is very proficient there is a sense that she is behind it all however it unfolds a bit more messy leaving plenty of room to make your own guesses at the ending!

Highly recommend

Jeneva Rose’s “The Perfect Divorce” surpasses her debut. Sarah’s thrilling journey captivated me. Unexpected twists and narrators perfectly portrayed characters and story. This audiobook will delight thriller enthusiasts. It kept me engaged, and I finished it in a few days. Highly recommend reading “The Perfect Divorce!”

This audiobook is extremely well done, it includes a full cast of narrators for the different POV and each individual had a unique voice, pacing and expressiveness that brought the different characters to life.

I felt that Jeneva Rose's style of switching between the different POV and the keeping the chapters short really added to the tension of the novel with great cliff hangers. I found myself completing unnecessary chores just to keep listening 🤣🤦‍♀️

I want to highlight that this novel is book 2 of a series. While you can read it as a standalone novel like I did, I do think it would create a better reading experience if you read Book 1 first. Plot points from book 1 were referenced often throughout this novel.

Overall I thought this was a gripping thriller that had be questioning everyone's motives and who was telling the truth. I easily read this novel is just a few days and I would definitely recommend you add this series to your TBR if you enjoy suspense

While this can be read as a stand alone, the reader would get more out of it if they read it closer to the first. I didn’t like this nearly as much but did find it captivating and interesting with a few surprises though many intended twists weren’t twists for me.

I was honestly so nervous to read this one because I loved the first book The Perfect Marriage so much but I really did enjoy this one…. Phew 😅😂
This book was a wild ride. It was dark, chaotic, twisty and kept me engaged the entire time! Sarah Morgan is quite the mastermind. She is smart , savage and you love to hate her. The narrators did a great job with the story. Their voices fit the characters so well.

Read if you enjoy:
▪️fast paced thrillers
▪️domestic drama
▪️multiple POV’s
▪️full cast audiobooks
▪️unlikeable characters

I had the great honor of receiving an ARC Audiobook of The Perfect Divorce by Jeneva Rose thanks to NetGalley. I really enjoyed this audiobook which utilized multiple actors to play each of the main characters. This always helps bring the story to life and delineate changes in personalities and storylines. The first few chapters were a little hard to follow the timeline of events, but after that it was all truly enjoyable. With the continuation of the storyline from the Perfect Marriage, Geneva Rose yet again shows the listener the lengths that her twisted and at times evil characters will go to get what they want.
I highly recommend The Perfect Divorce if you enjoy:

Multiple POVs with Multiple Actors/Voices
Psychological Thrillers/mysteries
Plot twists
Crime Scene investigation
Cold Cases being opened
Fast paced

If you enjoyed the Perfect Marriage at all, then you have to continue the story with The Perfect Divorce.

I will share reviews of this ARC Audiobook on my Bookstagram, my personal Facebook, Barnes and Noble, Amazon.com and Goodreads.

Oooh this sequel outdid its self! It kept me guessing and changing my mind on what I thought I knew! The first book fell a little short for me, but this one surpassed my expectations!!!

I have to admit to feeling giddy when I read that Jeneva Rose put out a part 2 to her highly rated novel "The Perfect Marriage". I was blown away by that book and all the twists and turns it led me through. It is at the top of a short lists of books I can easily recommend to everyone. I did read a hard copy of that book, and this time was offered an advanced audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

The narration was superb! I listened as a cast of SIX narrators brought this story to life. I could easily visualize each character based on their audio representation and they fit so well. While I was blindsided with The Perfect Marriage, I was EXPECTING Jeneva to keep us guessing this time and knew not to come up with any preconceived notions as to whodunnit. The cast of characters was long in this book, and I will admit to losing track of the significance of one character reappearing but that may be because I was distracted while listening to a valid explanation.

I truly hope this is not the last we see of Jeneva's cast and look forward to a book 3 in the future. (hint, hint). Many thanks to Blackstone Publishing - Audiobooks and Netgalley for the opportunity to listen in on this advanced audiobook. All opinions are authentically my own.

This was a fast, twisty read that kept me turning pages. Jeneva Rose does a great job blending suspense, drama, and messy relationship dynamics. I liked being back in Sarah Morgan’s world—she’s sharp, harsh, and always in the middle of chaos. The storylines around her divorce, Adam’s reopened case, and the missing woman all pulled me in.

That said, only two of the three main plotlines were fully resolved, which left me wanting a bit more closure. And while the big twist was solid, the ending didn’t quite land how I hoped—it felt rushed compared to how well the tension was built.

Overall, it’s an entertaining follow-up to The Perfect Marriage but not quite as strong. Still, this one delivers if you like legal thrillers with complex characters and lots of drama.

This book was a great twisty story to follow up The Perfect Marriage. I highly recommend you read that first, then be prepared to be blown away by an amazing sequel. You have to be able to suspend belief a bit but the thriller was well done. I hope she has a third one!

Recap:
In this sequel to The Perfect Marriage, Sarah Morgan is thrust back into the spotlight after police reopen her late husband’s murder case. It’s been over a decade since Sarah defended Adam against the charge of murdering his mistress. When officials uncover new evidence linking a former sheriff to the murder, the current sheriff reaches out to Sarah to revisit the details of the crime. Meanwhile, Sarah navigates a messy divorce from her current husband, Bob, after she discovers his affair. But when the woman Bob slept with is reported missing, he and Sarah begin a high-stakes game of cat and mouse, with each threatening to expose the other’s closely guarded secrets.

Review:
It’s rare for a sequel to be better than the original, but that’s exactly the case here. I thought The Perfect Marriage was just okay and gave it 3 stars. So I wasn’t really sure about a sequel… but this book definitely exceeded my expectations. It’s superior in story, style, and overall cohesiveness, and in being so made me appreciate the original for building the foundation needed to create this series.

This sequel picks up after the events of The Perfect Marriage and maintains the same kinds of crazy twists and turns throughout the book. From moment to moment, I knew I didn’t know who to trust, which kept me on edge in the best way possible. The whole thing kept me guessing, and just when I thought I had it figured out, a new twist would send me in a completely different direction! It’s bingeable, fast-paced, and you’re going to think you have it figured out, but you definitely don’t.

I’ve always had a soft spot for an unreliable narrator, and going into this story knowing that Sarah was exactly that made this book even more exciting! She suffers no fools and no betrayals, and her relationship with Bob is so deliciously toxic. She is far from likeable, but her clever and calculated decisions make her a really fascinating character.

Even if you’re like me and weren’t a huge fan of the first book, I would still recommend giving this one a read!

What a fantastic book/audiobook!
Normally sequels just dont hit the same as the first book but damn.. I think this may actually be better than the first!
I absolutely love Sarah and was rooting for her the whole way through the story! It was thrilling, gripping, i listened at every chance I had. I was obsessed. The twists were twisty and were done incredibly, I didn’t see them coming. I listened to this on audio and the narrators were amazing, they definitely did the characters and the story justice.. perfect all round. This book will quickly become a fan favourite with thriller book lovers.
I’m so sad that iv finished this now! Praying that there will be a 3rd book to make it a trilogy! 🤞🏽
This will be in my top 5 books this year! 5 ✨

This follows Sarah 11 years after her ex husband was sent down for the murder of his mistress. Sarah has since married Bob and they share a daughter together, until Bob has an affair with a woman and Sarah files for divorce. Until the woman goes missing. Sarah also has to deal with new DNA evidence coming to light about the case involving her ex husband, putting her back in the spotlight.
Meanwhile deputy Marcus hudson is doing everything in his power to bring the truth to light about what really happened 11 years ago and about what’s currently happened to bobs fling that has gone missing.
Will everybody get out alive or has someone finally met their match?
Thank you so much netgalley and blackstone publishers for approving this arc for me. I had the best time ever listening to this! 🫶🏽

Thank you Netgalley for the ALC of this book.

I really like the narration style of this book but this is a me problem when it comes to audios I have a hard time following several storylines. This was better because each person was a different voice.
I did enjoy my time but this won't be as memorable as I would want it to be. The wife in this story is a terrible person but I always like following her nonsense.

The good:
the narrators. I am so glad they brought back the same narrator for Sarah’s character. The guy that did Bob’s voice…spot on for what I envisioned. Everyone else did great.
It was twisty. Kept you guessing.

The bad:
Same storyline. Ugh I really hated that it was the same path as The Perfect Marriage. I was able to predict what happened. Yes I had a few surprises but overall I knew what was going to happen and it didn’t feel much different than the first book. That was disappointing.

Dare I say this is even better than the first?! The Perfect Marriage had one big story line, but this one had so many crimes going on that were connected. It kept me engaged from the very beginning. The audiobook was awesome as well because it had different narrators for each character and was told from many perspectives. I highly recommend this one 😍
