Audiobook Review: The Perfect Divorce by Jeneva Rose

Thank you soooo much for allowing me to review this audiobook! I’m definitely an audiobook girl, and I’m beyond grateful to get an advanced listen to one of my favorite author’s new books!

As soon as I got the approval for The Perfect Divorce, I immediately stopped listening to the book I was already in the middle of—there was no question what I was jumping into next. And I finished it in less than a day! That’s how hooked I was.

I absolutely love Jeneva Rose—The Perfect Marriage was one of my all-time favorites, and somehow The Perfect Divorce topped it! The story pulled me in from the very beginning, and I couldn’t press pause.

One of the standout things about this audiobook was having different voice actors for the main characters. It made the whole experience so much more immersive and brought the story to life in such a vivid way.

And the twists, Jeneva... the twists!! You think you’ve figured it out, you swear you know where it’s going—and then nope, you’re totally wrong. And it’s amazing.

Thank you again, NetGalley, for this opportunity. I absolutely loved it! 💕

I didn’t read The Perfect Marriage (book one), and honestly? It didn’t matter. The Perfect Divorce stands on its own—and stands tall in all its absolutely ridiculous, drama-drenched glory. This book is a mess, and I loved every second of it.

Bob Miller, the cheating husband, is the kind of character you love to hate. Smarmy, selfish, and somehow even more unlikeable thanks to his narrator (who was too good at making me want to roll my eyes), he’s the perfect foil for Sarah Morgan. And Sarah? She’s cold, calculating, and absolutely vicious—in the best way possible. I was obsessed.

Is it realistic? No. Is it over-the-top? Very. Is it a guilty pleasure thriller that feels like binge-watching a trashy true crime doc and a telenovela at the same time? 100%. I have no idea why I loved this train wreck so much, but I was HERE FOR IT.

If you’re in the mood for something twisty, dramatic, and a little bit unhinged, grab this one and buckle up.

This book is dark, unsettling, suspenseful and twisted. This is great sequel to the Perfect Marriage. Sarah has endured too much and she knew what she was doing. I didn’t see some twists coming. The book has multiple povs. Author did such a brilliant job. I won’t reveal much, read the book. Narrators did a good job. I liked the one who narrated Sarah’s perspective.

Thanks to the Publisher, Author, and Narrators

I really enjoyed The Perfect Divorce! Jeneva Rose does a great job pulling you right back into Sarah’s world—this time with even more tension, emotion, and unexpected twists. It’s fast-paced but still gives you those quieter moments that really hit. If you liked The Perfect Marriage, this follow-up is totally worth the read. I couldn't put it down!

“The Perfect Marriage” is my favorite book. I’ve read it at least 10 times. I knew Jeneva had it in her to write an outstanding sequel, but OH. MY. GOD. I was astounded, yet again. I had my theories, but I was even more excited with how she ended this book. I can’t give away anything, but this is easily the best sequel to the best book I’ve ever read. Brava, Jeneva. Just… wow. The full cast audio was spectacular as well. I’m just blown away.

Fantastic! I loved the first book, and it was super cool to get a continuation of the series. I loved the thrills, I can never figure out who the killer is or the plot twist and turns. The audiobook was fantastic, all the different narrators did a fantastic job! I read it in a single day.

This sequel to the perfect marriage was incredible. It picked up right where things left off eben when the book takes place 11 years later. Sometimes sequels are always a hit or miss but this sequel was a HIT forsure! An intense murder mystery. Thank you for the ALC!

Last month, I read the Perfect Marriage by Jeneva Rose and I was OBSESSED. It was perfect timing when I saw that the sequel, the Perfect Divorce, was coming out soon. I was lucky enough to listen to the audiobook.

Sarah Morgan is a lawyer that defended her ex husband on trial for murder. She unfortunately did not win her ex husband case. This new book takes place eleven years later and her life has moved on. She has a daughter, her job looks slightly different, and she was remarried to another lawyer in her past firm. That is, however, until they start to go through a divorce. Will history repeat itself?

I loved this just as much as the first one. It had similar qualities like the twists and turns, plus the main character is a bad ass. I loved all the different characters in the audiobook and really brought the book to life. You do have to read the first book, and I would recommend reading it close together since there are a lot of aspects that are similar. 5✨

Okay I'm going to be honest, I didn't read the first one, but what I loved is how this book explains perfectly what I need to know.
I understood it and I had a feeling what would happen, but that little plot twist at the end I wasn't expecting. I believe this will be a hit!

Thanks so much for this advanced arc!

Thank you to the publisher and author for this audio arc! I was so excited to get an advanced copy of this!
I am a big fan of Jeneva Rose, and this story once again did not disappoint! Just as was the case was the first book in this duology, I found this book to be entertaining and held my interest throughout. I also felt each of the actors cast for narration of this book were exceptional.

Oh what fun it was to be back with all of our horrible characters lol. They are all so diabolical but fun to read. It was so twisty! I thought I had it figured out but nope. I don't how Jeneva can even come up with all of this haha. The audibook was amazing!! There was a full cast and I ate it up. I feel a third book coming....
Thank you to Blackstone Publishing and NetGalley for the opportunity to listen to this book

A great sequel to The Perfect Marriage! I'd say this one lacked that thriller suspense feeling like it did in the first book. This was more of a mystery for 75% and then a thriller for the last 25%. I'll definitely be recommending both books for a fun summer binge.

Exciting to have a second chapter to this story and a return to characters we knew from the first book. Unfortunately, I didn’t enjoy this as much as the first for some reason. It was twisty but not quite as well done as the twisty bits in the first. Without giving spoilers I won’t say much but I didn’t love the ending. I almost hope there is a third so that my new least favorite character can get what has been coming to them.

Thank you to the publisher for an advance copy of the Audio Book.

I did not read her previous novel, The Perfect Marriage, so fair warning that IF you haven't read that book, this book has spoilers for the previous book.

I can't say enough about how the twists and turns of this story play out. Sarah Morgan and Bill Martin are getting a divorce, Sarah takes getting even and getting what she wants to an entirely new level. The twists as the story unfolds are interesting, and just when you think you have figured things out, you are surprised again.

I enjoyed this novel immensely. I think the side characters were as well written and thought through as the main characters. In the audio version the narration was on point and really brought this story to life.

I reread the first book to refresh my memory before starting this one, and I am glad I did. I love reading morally grey characters and twists and turns that keep me guessing, and this sequel delivered. The build-up was tense and riveting and I could not put this down. Cast of multiple narrators was fabulous!

I enjoyed this audiobook SO much! I don't remember exactly how I felt reading the first book, but this sequel might just be even better.

This is the second book in the Perfect Series! I definitely recommend reading the first book before this one! Otherwise, you will miss important aspects of the story. I found this to be a compulsive listen. The multi-cast narration was great, especially the narrator that voiced Bob! Such a unique voice!

The plot is similar to The Perfect Marriage, but just as enjoyable! We also meet a lot of the same characters from the first books. Some loose ends get tied up too! This book is dark and Sarah is quite the character! I bet Jeneva Rose had a great time writing her character!

Overall, a dark, overtop thriller that was just as enjoyable the first book in the series! I definitely recommend listening to the audiobook!

Did this really NEED a sequel? No. But, I did really enjoy this contribution to the story and I'm definitely not complaining that we were handed one. This was a fast-paced action packed thriller that kept me guessing the whole time. Some bits were a tad over-exaggerated and outlandish but not too the point where it dragged away from the story. Somehow I both loved and hated Sarah the entire time, but found myself rooting for her towards the end of the journey.
