Sequel to The Perfect Marriage, The Perfect Divorce is a fun follow up for fans! I enjoyed this second book and wouldn't be mad at a third! Publication date is April 15th, 2025 - so get ready, its coming soon!
4 entertaining stars

Sarah has moved on. It’s been 11 years since she defended her husband Adam for killing his mistress. She is remarried and her life is on track. When she finds out Bob had a one-night-stand however, Sarah files for divorce right away. When his one night stand goes missing, and new evidence comes out on Adams case, chaos ensues.
This is the sequel to The Perfect Marriage and it did not disappoint! Jeneva Rose has a pretty dark and twisted brain, but thats why we love her! As messed up as everything is you somehow find yourself rooting for everyone? There were so many unexpected twists I had trouble keeping track at times, but this was the perfect part two! I did this one on audio and really enjoyed it!
Thank you to @blackstonepublishing for my gifted copy of this book!

I love Jeneva Rose. SHEW GIRL THAT ENDING THREW ME! 4.5 stars from me 👏🏼
Thank you blackstone publishing and NetGalley for the E-arc for the perfect divorce!

I received this audiobook as an Advance Readers Copy, this is my honest review (Releasing April 15, 2025). I’m a sucker for audiobooks that have different characters for the voices. This listen was very entertaining to me, the storyline, the back & forth. This was the perfect book to follow The Perfect Marriage! If giving the chance I highly suggest listening to this while reading the book. Sarah Sarah Sarah……

Wow! It was so good. I enjoyed the first book in the series but this one had my heart literally beating out of my chest. It was had me in edge and jumpy. I finished this in like a day. Totally recommend.

Our favorite boss ass bitch, Sarah Morgan, is BACK in this delicious sequel. She finds out that her current husband, Bob, has cheated on her and she is NOT putting up with anything of the sort.
Sarah ad Bob built a life together and have a daughter. How could he do something like this to them? The only option In Sarah’s mind is to file for divorce.
… but when the woman that Bob had his affair with turns up missing, this story starts to get a bit more sinister, and our main couple start to fight dirty.
There are plenty of twists and turns in this story that will keep you on the edge of your seat. I blew through this story so fast! I even dare to say that I think I liked this one better than the first. Definitely worth the read

It’s been eleven years since high powered attorney, Sarah Morgan, defended her husband Adam for the murder of his mistress. Sarah has since moved on to get married and start a family with Bob Miller another attorney. However, after she finds out of Bob’s affair she quickly files for divorce and custody of their daughter. During the divorce proceedings new DNA is uncovered in the case against Sarah’s first husband Adam and the new sheriff Marcus Hudson is determined to find out the truth. In the meantime, Bob’s one night stand turns up missing and things are about to get messy.
In typical Jeneva Rose fashion this was twisty and crazy. The beginning definitely had me a bit confused at first and was a bit slow to set up but I enjoyed the plot twist once it got started. The Perfect Marriage was still my favorite because it was unexpected and with this book you already kind of knew what kind of crazy Sarah was. Overall I enjoyed it though.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨
I want to thank NetGalley, Blackstone Publishing and Jeneva Rose for the opportunity to listen to this audiobook prior to release day! This book was so good, although I do request not relistening to The Perfect Marriage prior bc I was thrown by the names for a minute 🤪
I genuinely didn’t know how we were going to end this book, and it all played into the hands at the end and I should have seen it coming but never would have. I genuinely believe that this duet was PERFECTION. I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way (maybe) 🤭

The Perfect Divorce by Jeneva Rose is a gripping mystery full of unexpected twists and entangled storylines driven by self-serving motivations. While I thoroughly enjoyed the novel, I found the plot somewhat predictable, and all of the characters were rather unlikable. That being said, I would still recommend it to fans of mysteries looking for an intriguing read.

I was SO EXCITED to receive an ARC of this book because The Perfect Marriage was one of my favorite reads last year, and Rose did not let me down. While not quite as shocking as the first, The Perfect Divorce was an excellent thriller that will keep readers hooked until the end. Definitely have to read the first book before this one though. There’s a lot of callback to the original storyline.

Not having read The Perfect Marriage, I was concerned about not being able to follow the storyline of The Perfect Divorce. Fortunately, that proved not to be the case. Set over a decade after the events of the first book, The Perfect Divorce presents lawyers Sarah Morgan and Bob Miller, now married and with a young daughter. She's discovered he cheated on her and has filed for divorce, but he doesn't want the marriage to end. Her former husband, Adam, died in prison for murdering his mistress, but new DNA evidence points to the former sheriff, who is now in prison for vehicular manslaughter. And now the woman Bob slept with is missing, and he suspects Sarah had something to do with it. Jeneva Rose does a great job presenting each character's personality and goals right at the outset while giving a recap of the first book, so it was easy to jump into the story even without prior knowledge of the first book. Each character has their own skewed perspective of the events taking place and of the other characters, and for much of this book it felt like a return to the style of One of Us Is Dead, wherein every narrator is unreliable. This is a page-turner for sure.
However, because The Perfect Divorce hinges on re-examining what happened in The Perfect Marriage (including reopening the case even though readers of the first book clearly know what actually happened so it's more a matter of seeing if the new sheriff catches up and if Sarah and Bob get found out), it becomes painfully obvious even to a new reader that Sarah is not a good person. Moreover, her actions in The Perfect Divorce make it difficult to like her. And Bob is simply unlikeable. So, when reading about a battle between two unlikeable people, it becomes tough to cheer on either one. Even the missing woman isn't a good person. Other than some of the supporting characters, like the hairdresser Clarissa, the only really good narrator in this book is the new sheriff, Marcus Hudson, and even he only serves as a device to move the plot forward while playing into Sarah's hands.
Nearly all of the "twists" are predictable when one is fully aware of Sarah's scheming (to the point that one twist in particular, is so contrived that it seems unlikely), and the one twist that is not involves the reappearance of a major character from the first book, except he only appears on-screen briefly and appears to be coincidental to the main plot of this book despite it being a catalyst for many of the book's events. The ending leaves some ends dangling loose, clearly with the intent of leading into yet another sequel, but the fact these matters are unresolved is rather frustrating.
The narration is strong, especially by the brilliant Adam Lazarre-White (although it is a bit odd that every member of the northern Virginia sheriff's department has a thick Southern drawl EXCEPT for the sheriff). Overall, The Perfect Divorce feels like it was written for those who loved The Perfect Marriage and were curious what happened to those characters later on, but new readers might feel a bit lost. Thank you to Blackstone, the author, and Netgalley for the opportunity to read this book in advance and to provide an unbiased review.

I was so excited to hear of a sequel to The Perfect Marriage. Jeneva did not disappoint. Will Sarah's secrets be revealed? Is her estranged husband hiding a very dark secret? I loved the audio...great narrators..hats off Brittany Presley and Adam Lazarre-White.

I rarely say a sequel is better than the original, but this one DEFINTIELY IS. The Perfect Marriage *perfectly* sets up The Perfect Divorce to be even more entertaining when we revisit Sarah Morgan 11 years later.
This book has everything you’d want in a suspenseful thriller. A missing person. Or two. A bloody knife. Or two? An unsolved murder. Or two!
Honestly, I just had a good time reading this. The plot line is wild, outrageous, and fantastic, and it had me gasping at every turn. Like, jaw on the floor — I did not expect half of the twists that Jeneva Rose 🌹 throws at us. The suspense, the anticipation, it is ALL there.
Thank you to Blackstone Publishing and Netgalley for the Advanced Reader Copy. ❤️

The anticipation! The build up! Ahhh. This was so good! I loved every minute of it. Also, the narrator for Sheriff Hudson *swoon*! The audio was done so well!

I didn't love [book:The Perfect Marriage|223688351], but it was okay. And it has stuck with me. So I picked this one up. I kind of wish I hadn't. I hate all of these people so much. And knowing how much I hated them set the tone in the beginning. At least with an unknown, you don't start off knowing you hate all of the characters.
Like, I hate Bob. He is a terrible person. So it was hard for me to find sympathy. So I didn't care.
Looking at the other reviews, I am in the minority here. And that is fine. I didn't realize I was going into this with a negative vibe, but it makes sense since all of the characters are terrible people.
The audio narration is the best part. A full cast (some only brought on for a chapter or two). Mozahn Navabi, J.S. Arquin, Adam Lazarre- White, Brittany Pressley, Andi Arndt, and Andrew Eiden are all part of the cast.
I received an advance audio copy in exchange for an honest review.

I've been anticipating this book since I finished listening to the audiobook of The Perfect Marriage in 2023. While this book wasn't announced until last year, I just knew there would be more to the story. You can't have a character as diabolical as Sarah Morgan and expect things to just be normal in her world. It takes a particularly messed up person to come up with that plan and enact it all while playing the doting wife to any onlookers. That being said... why am I constantly rooting for her to succeed despite her evil tendencies?! I don't know, but I love the ride. lol
I wasn't really sure where this story was going to go at first, but after Sarah finds out that Bob, her second husband and former coworker, is having an affair, I had a feeling we were going to be in for a bumpy ride. Bob knows all about Sarah's proclivities, and he immediately starts damage control. He knows being on Sarah's bad side will not go well for him, and it's a slippery slope once she's written you off. There is no limit to what Sarah will do to protect herself and their daughter. This book is full of twists and turns that make you question what you know, sometimes even what you knew from the first book. I don't want to say too much because it all plays a part in how things come together at the end, but it was a wild ride and I loved every minute of it.
This is one of those cases where the sequel far surpassed the original, and I really cannot say enough good things about this book.

Sarah Morgan committed the perfect crime 12 years ago. She framed her husband for his mistress's murder and got away with it. Now she's ready to divorce her second husband after he cheated but he won't go easily. There is no length Sarah will not go to to protect her daughter.
I have been anticipating the continuation of this story since the day it was announced. Sarah Morgan is such a likable villain. For someone who has done some bad things, I just can't help but root for her. I loved this evolution of her story and seeing her as a mother. I could not stop listening to this audiobook until I made it to the end. The narration was also fantastic. I highly recommend this one!
Thank you to NetGalley and Blackstone publishing for the ARC of The Perfect Divorce.

Thank you NetGalley for the advanced readers audiobook of The Perfect Divorce by Jeneva Rose.
I read a physical copy of The Perfect Marriage a few years ago and I think The Perfect Divorce is the "perfect" follow up. I enjoyed this book even more. The cast of this audio experience were phenomenal getting each point of view from a different voice helped distinguish the characters and help visualize the situation. I could feel their emotions through their voices.
I think Jeneva Rose did a fabulous job bringing the reader back into Sarah's world. I love Sarah as a character, and I felt more connected to her in this sequel than I did the first book. I enjoyed getting to know her better. The side characters had a lot of depth and layers to them. The plot although silly at times still pulls the reader in and makes them wonder "what's going to happen".
I am hoping this is not the last time I get to visit Sarah's mind; I will definitely read a third, fourth and even fifth book into this lady's CRAZY world. Jeneva Rose is a master at writing ridiculous popcorn thrillers. I hope this book makes it into Scot's hand so her fans can experience another TikTok series on the ridiculousness of angry readers emailing authors about their experiences.
*side note - we never email authors, tag authors or tell authors about bad reviews. If you do that, you're just a jerk!

The Perfect Divorce
Jeneva Rose
Marriage is forever until it isn’t. Eleven years ago, Sarah Morgan’s husband was accused and convicted of murdering his mistress. Sarah is a high-powered lawyer and defended her husband. Unfortunately, he was convicted and sentenced to death by lethal injection. Sarah went on with her life; she married Bob Miller and started a family. She also made a career change.
Bob made a mistake; he had a one-night stand. Furious Sarah files for divorce. Bob keeps begging for a second chance to no avail. The divorce gets messy. New evidence is discovered in the case against Adam, evidence that proves he may not have committed the murder. The police reopen the case. Former deputy Marcus Hudson, now the sheriff, is determined to find the truth.
The woman Bob had the one-night stand with goes missing. Then his hairdresser disappears. There is evidence that all points to Bob.
Sarah is devoted to their daughter, Summer. When Bob threatens to go for custody, the gloves come off.
This is the second book in the Perfect series. Book 1 was the Perfect Marriage. This book stands well alone. The plot of this book is absurd and strange and beyond belief, but it works. If you read book 1 you know that Sarah is manipulative, but so is Bob. They are plotting against each other. The question is which one is the most devious, the most diabolical, and the most conniving. The plot is fast paced, and there is plenty of action. The plot is also dark and twisted. As to the characters: Sarah was smart, brilliant, and cunning. Bob tries to outsmart Sarah but, does he have what it takes to beat her at her own game.
Thank you NetGalley and Blackstone publishing.

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ (4.75/5)
Jeneva Rose delivers another darkly brilliant thriller with The Perfect Divorce, a gripping, mind-twisting ride through love, lies, and calculated revenge. The main character is as sharp as they come—genuine, devious, and dangerously intelligent. Every page drips with tension, and just when you think you have the upper hand, the plot twists and leaves you reeling.
I’ve read The Perfect Marriage, and now The Perfect Divorce, and while I loved The Perfect Marriage (solid 4 stars), this one edges closer to perfection. If you love morally gray protagonists and psychological warfare wrapped in a thriller, The Perfect Divorce is a must-read.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC!
