Well, this was a surprisingly novel way of teaching kids to recognize their letters and also learn new words, but where is the meaning of these words? Although I must say, iguanitas (haha) had me scratching my head a bit, the unique search-and-find items hidden in the illustrations won me over. Besides that it was a fun and educative little package.

This might be my 4 year old daughter’s new favorite book. This is a clever way to educate children on their alphabet by providing so many words that begin with the letter, colorful illustrations, and a search and find with additional words beginning with the letter! I will definitely be buying a physical copy of this wonderful book and recommending it to my friends in my Mom’s group.
Thank you Carpenter's Son Publishing and Clovercroft Publishing for providing this ARC via NetGalley for an honest review!

Armored Armadillo to Zippy Zebra by Carol Baker : the author uses alliteration for each animal of the alphabet. Alliteration is the repetition of the same sound at the beginning of words in a phrase or sentence. She also hides additional objects with the same letter in each illustration to reinforce the letter sound.
At the end of the book is a special “I Spy” feature where there’s a list of words for each letter of the alphabet and the reader can look for those words in the illustration with the letter.
There’s a glossary of all the words used in the book along with the parts of speech.
There’s educational applications that the author gives to be used to teach further.
The book is for ages preschool-3rd grade. It’s a fun and educational book to introduce the alphabet. It introduces the reader to new words to expand his/her vocabulary. It uses detailed and beautiful illustrations to further teach the reader.
Thank you #netgalley

Thank you for the ARC. What a fun animal alphabet book with great illustrations. I wasn’t expecting each letter to have the entire sentence contain that letter so that was a lot of fun. The fact that the pictures reflected the sentence was fun for my toddler.

This was such a well thought out and fun alliteration alphabet book! The additional element of hidden pictures makes it easy to read over and over again and gain something new each time.
The pictures are so beautiful. The whole book kept my kiddos attention. Really appreciate the additional resources and suggestions on how to utilize for further learning.
Absolutely love this one and want to add a physical copy to our personal collection.

Books that do more than I expected get high marks from me, and this certainly does more than I expected. I was OK with the format – a page of highly alliterative text, of almost tongue-twister proportions, and the visual on the facing page. But what it took me some time to twig was that there were visual anachronisms in the image, and they feed in to the alliteration too. And then it was a case of me working out how many there were per page – first I thought they all had three, then soon spotted four – I was a long way before the end before the patient platypus came with six elements beginning with 'p' that don't feature in the descriptive sentence. OK, by the time we come to 'r' we're down to 'rain', so they're not all splendidly included, but they are there, and they're great to point out to an adult that you've found them, proving either your experience with your vocab or your hours rehearsing and poring over these pages.
And that's where this wins. The vocab on the alliterative sentence is probably far too much for a young reader, but there are things throughout for her or him to identify and pick up on, and the visuals do just enough to keep good company for a good time until everything's been mentally itemised. And before you know it, you have a young pair of hands very, very used to holding books – and returning to books. And I would never quibble about someone returning to this book in particular, for it's perfectly harmless and educative fun. And as it does more than I assumed, it gets more stars than I may have assumed beforehand – a full five of them.

This book is adorable. I just read it to my little cousin, and we both loved the artwork and she loved pointing out everything in the picture that matched the words to the previous page, it was a little bit like an I spy.
I really loved the descriptive words because when I was reading it, she would ask what does that word mean and we would look it up together.
After reading, I did see that there was a glossary in the back of the book, but we really had fun googling it together and looking at the images that came up with the word.
