This fantastical story is somewhat simplistic and forgettable, but the illustrations are unique and stunning. The illustrations involve photographs of intricate, dimensional paper art, and the author's note in the back explains some about the creation process.

The illustrations were detailed and delightful. There was so much to look at, and I think kids would especially enjoy pouring over these pages. The story felt like it lacked poignancy in execution, though the plot had potential. Overall, a neat little picture book.

Anya feels a breeze, which isn’t that unusual, but for a town made entirely of delicate paper, any sort of wind can be bad, and so, she has to go in search of where this wind is coming from
What she discovers is a world made of cardboard, that can withstand winds, and is making them to power their mills. Anya has to come up with a solution that works for both towns.
It is a story of friendship, but the real star of the story is the art work, with the delicate paper cutouts of Anya’s village, and Hazels, which are stronger cardboard. There is even a bit at the end of the book that talks about how the artwork was made.

WOW! This is one of the most beautiful picture books I've ever seen. Every page was gorgeous and detailed. Such a clever way to illustrate-- I would love to see more like this.
The story is wonderful too. An entire group of people so vulnerable that they can't deal with wind is affected by a group of sturdy people who live in the trees across the chasm. Once they communicate, they solve the problem and now the people learn from each other and enjoy each other's company.
