Thank you, NetGalley and Dreamscape Audio, for the opportunity to listen to this audiobook in advance.

The narration in Love, Camera, Action was truly engaging. The narrator brought the characters to life with distinct voices and well-timed delivery, making it an enjoyable listening experience. Their performance added depth and emotion, enhancing the overall storytelling.

While I appreciated the premise and themes of the book, I found some aspects of the execution to be a bit heavy-handed. The feminist perspective was a strong focus, which I generally appreciate, but at times, it felt overly emphasized in ways that pulled me out of the story. For example, a simple wink from a man—especially one the protagonist found attractive—being portrayed as offensive felt exaggerated and made it difficult for me to fully connect with her reactions.

That said, I know this book will resonate with readers who enjoy thought-provoking discussions on gender dynamics and empowerment. While it wasn’t fully for me, I can see its appeal to those who prefer stories with strong, overt feminist themes.

Overall, Love, Camera, Action is a well-narrated audiobook with a compelling voice—just a bit too on-the-nose for my personal taste.

This book was a cute quick listen, but I found it fairly predictable. Callie gets a job as a director on a TV show and immediately starts to spar with the sexy producer Jory. There were undeniable sexual attractions between them and of course, they ended up hooking up behind closed doors.

The audiobook for Love, Camera, Action (not my favorite title) by Noel Stark (no other credits on Goodreads) is a fun listening experience, particularly thanks to pro narrator Maxine Mitchell. Going into the book with few expectations, it provided a fascinating behind the scenes look at an on-set romance between two crew members of a hit tv show: a veteran male director of photography and a less experienced female director. The author deftly handles issues of gender politics in Hollywood post-MeToo, including intimacy coordinators, power imbalances, and straight up misogyny among the old guard, along with excellent spicy scenes. The male love interest requires serious growth to earn his title (he had to ask "am I the a**hole?" a few too many times for my taste) but thankfully he gets there in the end. This was a pleasant surprise that I would recommend to any fan of the genre.

Fun and flirty listen
Single narration - Maxine Mitchell
I love her voice she always does a fantastic job.

This story was a quick and fun listen. The two main characters are relatable and likeable. Cali and Joey story is flirty, fun and dramatic enough to keep you hooked.

Definitely recommend to anyone who loves romcom movies.

I am usually not a fan of single narrator audios but this book was ok. It didn’t bother me as much as most do when a female and or male narrators all characters. It flowed nicely tho.

The story was ok. Wasn’t my favorite. Wasn’t the worst. I had a hard time relating to the both the MMC and FMC. But by the end I did come to like Cali and Jory.
