"I hurt so bad from wanting her and from not wanting to want her."

Yes, you guessed it. That cover got my attention...sigh. And it wasn't just the hot guy, it was the guitar too. I can't resist a rockstar romance, I'm addicted. Unfortunately, that's not what Love, Always is. Yes, there are a few characters that might fit that description, but that's not what the story is about.

I loved Adam immediately. And when I met the 6 yr old version of him, I loved him even harder. My heart broke along with his as he suffered multiple losses. I wanted to give him what his heart desired, but it was out of my hands. I mentally crossed my fingers for him to find what he was looking for. And I must admit I mentally slapped a bitch too. I won't ruin it for you, you'll want to join me in that mental exercise a time twenty so I'll let you find out for yourself who I'm referring to.

I didn't connect with Dee at first. That's understandable, considering the rug got pulled out from under her almost immediately and the version of her that I spent time with was only a shell of her former self. I got frustrated with her and subjected her to some unsolicited advice that she promptly ignored. Fortunately, she met Hadley, and then her eyes were opened to some truths that were previously buried beneath her pain. I totally had a girl crush on Hadley, for real. She's hilarious and so real. Right in your face with the obvious but with an original delivery that makes it entertaining.

The story was beautiful and kept me interested. However; I was a little disappointed with the connection between Adam and Dee. So much of their feelings were trapped in their own heads, so what happened between them when they were actually in the same room together didn't quite measure up to my expectations. I wanted more. I wanted to put them in a room together and make them talk to each other until they knew as much as I did about how they felt. I guess it's a good thing they are both writers. At least they have an artistic way to express themselves to get their feelings across. Whether it be by song or poem, it translates to love when you hear it or feel it, right?
