I found Unconditional to be good, and not particularly great. The world building was very basic, and the character development rushed. The overall plot was quite predictable and left me with zero surprises. The celebrity aspect was believable, but I felt the treatment of the protagonist’s disease to be lacking. Unconditional was an easy read, yet I will not continue the series. It’s just not for me. 3 stars overall.

Maci is an American student travelling to Australia for 10 weeks on a scholarship to conduct a research project. She is intelligent, sassy, and funny! I liked her a lot! But Maci has been diagnosed with early-onset Parkinson’s disease. Having watched her mother suffering through the same illness, she knows what her future holds. She is angry and devastated, but she has accepted it and deals with it the best she can.

Enter Raphael Jones. He is charming, gorgeous and arrogant. He is a celebrity which makes him distrustful of most people so even though he and Maci have an instant connection, things do start off a bit rocky.
Raph comes across as moody, but he is revealed to be a guy with a huge heart and has no problem with being open about his feelings.

Raph and Maci do give in to their attraction quickly, but Maci's condition remains at the forefront of her mind.

The story has its ups and downs and played out as expected. It is, no doubt, predictable on more than one occasion. I would have loved to have an epilogue so that their story could be rounded off nicely.
