Thank you to the publisher Harper and Netgalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
'31 Days of Spooky' is an anthology of short slightly scary horror tales and stories along with one or two illustrations accompanying the scary tale.
I enjoyed the book overall. Ghostly appearances, mysterious figures, and some emotional stories.
Each tale is quite different from one another: an old house that belonged to a newly wed couple, a mother in the road with her baby, two friends playing hide-and-seek in a forest and a cemetery, unsolved or hidden murders at a house or a hotel,... Many different topics and plots are embedded in this collection of short horror stories.
It is beautifully illustrated, painting and embodying the image, or the essence, of the story itself. It is a quick, fun read.

I adore Halloween, and this was the perfect little collection of cute spooky stories. Although it says for children and adults. I believe this would mainly be for children and highschoolers overall I really enjoyed it and highly recommend for any spooky lover.

Perfect book for Halloween! 🎃 👻 The stories read on the younger side but that was fine with me! And my kids liked listening along too!

The stories were short and kind of spooky, but not as well written as Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark. I didn't finish this one--just not for me.

Some great little spooky sort of slightly horror stories, definitely intended for a younger/teen or new to horror audience and I think they would really love it. Very quick, to the point stories which I read super fast as they were each unique and different.

Thank you so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc of this one in exchange for an honest review!
This book is a bunch of short spooky stories with pictures. There are a lot of different scary things and ideas explored.
This was a fun read! I enjoyed the stories and the pictures. There were a lot of spooky things going on and i enjoyed it!
This would be perfect for Halloween time! I would recommend to people looking for short spooky stories.

This book was fun, but it wasn't for me. I went in with the expectations that this would be a graphic novel for adults/teens (as marketed, but this was more of a short story collection akin to Scary Stories to Tell In the Dark in my opinion.
Thank you Harper Celebrate and NetGalley for the ARC.

I really enjoyed this one. The stories were fun and I liked the illustrations. This will be a good one for Spooky Season.

I enjoyed 31 Days of Spooky! I am not sure why it says that it is marketed for adults because it is a solid collection of stories that would be great for teens and preteens. Many of the stories had themes that felt like targeted urban legends to teach younger teens moral lessons, but come off as a bit childish for adult audiences. I did love the reworked classic stories like the car on the train tracks and the bride who died while waiting. 31 Days of Spooky is a cute and fun collection that I will be recommending to the middle schoolers in my life.
Thank you to NetGalley and Harper for the eARC of this title!

I wouldn’t have qualified this as a “Graphic Novel” by any means, so I was slightly irked that it was under the wrong category.
They were all very cheesy, not scary, and not enticing or well-written stories. Perhaps all of this set a bad taste in my mouth for the rest of the stories.
This book may be more suitable for a younger audience than teens. It wasn't for me, but it may be for you.

I actually really enjoyed these as someone who isn't super into ghost stories! The pictures were an amazing touch and the stories were very well written and thrilling despite how short it was. Honestly I'm a little jealous of any of the adults or kiddos who get to experience a story a day through October! What a fun idea! I'd read one like this again!

These Halloween stories were interesting and entertaining. However, It felt more like a children’s spooky stories book, minus the illustrations in it. The illustrations were spooky and gory! This short book includes 31 different stories in it. I think the illustrations are excellent. The stories are good too, but they did not give me the extra spooky vibes I was wanting. I was unable to download it to my Kindle, so I ended up using the NetGalley app on my iPad to read it and it worked perfectly! Overall, I found this to be a reasonable read, especially during Halloween season! I give this a 3 out of 5 stars!
Thank you to NetGalley and Harper Celebrate Publishing for this digital advanced reader’s copy in exchange for my honest review!
