I could rant for day and write pages about why I disliked this book. It just didn't worked for me, sorry,

This was an interesting read. I don’t usually like this type of story when it begins with a misunderstanding or a miscommunication. Juliet had married Nick 8 years ago but hasn’t seen him for those 8 years. Nick never consummated the marriage and had left his new bride to live in Europe and engaging in general debauchery. Nick had hated getting married to Juliet under the influence of his father. As Nick has given up his responsibilities, Julia has slowly becoming penniless after her father has passed and Nick’s cousin took over the finances. She realizes that she can no longer support herself and aunt and decides to go find her husband. She commissions Pearl Kelly to teach her all she knows so that she can seduce her husband and have a child to secure the Dukedom. Julia achieves her goal of learning from Pearl Kelly and seducing her husband, however she finds that she’s fallen in love with him at the same time and flees Venice.

I had actually read this word for word and not skim read this. And had actually enjoyed reading this. I felt that Nick and Julia were very much made for each other and I loved the supporting character in the form of Simon. He’s funny and he’s got some really good ideas and I feel that without him the story would have been really hard to get along. I loved Julia’s attitude and finally getting to do something for herself in her own way but I also liked Nick a lot more once he’s back in London and getting things in order. But he did go too far with Julia. There were misunderstandings on misunderstandings throughout the book which I thought was a bit too much for me. But it’s got a good pace and an easy read. So I gave it 3/5 but it wasn’t a huge stand out for me.
