I have some fondness for good magical realism. I think its part of that innate human desire to discover something beyond ourselves, to find wonder in what seems to be a mundane world. And if ever there were a situation that could use a touch of magic its the changing behavior and poor decision making of preteen girls. All that to say that I whole heartedly support the idea of this book but I didn't particularly enjoy reading it.
