I really wanted to love this one, especially after enjoying the previous book, but I struggled to stay engaged. The pacing felt slow and I had a hard time connecting with the female main character, which might just be a “me” thing, but it did affect how invested I felt.

There were definitely some sweet, creative moments that showed the potential of their connection (I loved chapter 22!) and the ending was cute. But overall, the emotional stakes felt low.

I also feel like this book might work better as a tandem read with The Payback Plan. Knowing certain things in advance took away some of the suspense and impact for me, which may have worked differently if I had read them side by side.

That said, I’m still curious about the next installment. I enjoy the world these authors have built and I’d love to see what happens next.

FMC - Bella and MMC - Chase.
I had a bit of a tough time getting into the book as it began, but it got better as the plot went along further.
Characters were well-developed and connected with the characters from book 1 well. I do think you need the background from book 1 to be able to enjoy this book adequately. For me (only my opinion), this struggles as a standalone.
Nevertheless, this is a cute story. There was some playful/fun banter.
Pace of the plot was okay for me- it did drag on just a bit in certain areas of the plot. The plot was structured well for the most part.
I do recommend reading book 1 first!

This book is part of a series surrounding four women where each book focuses in one one of their love stories. The plot is unique as they are all each falling in love after setting out for revenge.

The idea here reminded me a bit of the Horrible Bosses movie. They each want revenge on the “wrongdoings” from a man & decide to find it for one another. Bella is the FMC and is tasked with pursuing artist turned gallery director Chase. Astrid in their girl gang was led to believe he had been married while they were together so Bella sets out to destroy Chase Miller by first getting a job at his new gallery.

As they work to get the gallery up and running she starts out with harmless pranks like switching salt to sugar in his coffee, but what happens when she might have gone too far & has found out that they didn’t have the full story on what went down between him and her friend after all?

Getting to read book two in this Karma Club Series I am so very honored. These books have absolutely grabbed a piece of my heart and I’ve fallen in love with all of these women and their stories. Getting to read the love stories after their failed revenge against their exes in the most humorous way is literally everything.

In this book Bella and Chase were a great match. I wanted to dislike Chase so much for cheating on his wife with Astrid without even giving Astrid a choice to be the other woman and the wife a choice to leave before being cheated on. But that was absolutely blown out the water. He truly is a nice guy just trying to rebuild himself and his art gallery. Bella is just everything with her love of red velvet cake to her being able to find her voice louder and louder throughout this book. And all of this starts with the absolute pettiest way to make friends! I cannot wait for the remaining 2 books in this series!

I loved the first book in this series and couldn’t wait to read this one and it didn’t disappoint. Filled with drama, romance and colorful characters the pages flew by. Having briefly “met” Bella in the first novel it was good to get to know her more while also seeing further insights into the other girls in the series giving glimpses of what is to come. The chemistry between Bella and Chase was perfect and their journey filled with enough drama to keep you hooked. Perfect for fans of Phoebe Macleod, Portia Macintosh and Christy Mckellen

I was very intrigued with the storyline of the book. It gives First Wives Club vibes. I really tried to get into this one. I picked it up and put it down SO many times. I just couldn't get into the characters. There was something with the girls and I wish I could truly put my finger on it.

Another great book in this series. I love the fact it shows the feelings and thoughts from both sides, the male and female characters. You get to watch their journeys of self discovery. You know their journey is based upon lies and you can’t put the book down until you find out if it will all work out. Your love for the characters built in the first book continues and the books slot together beautifully despite being written by different authors

This book was not a favorite, but I still thought it was cute. It was hard to get into at first, but I powered through. A bunch of women unite to get revenge on those who wronged them. Bella (FMC) chooses to get revenge on Chase (MMC) by infiltrating his work. Spolier alert: She doesn't get revenge on her ex, but rather on her best friend's ex. So, what could go wrong?

Chase has been through it and was legally married, but only in that sense. His wife was horrible, and he left, leading him to meet Astrid (Bella's new BFF). Having this background gives you more sympathy for Chase, but he's not entirely off the hook.

3.5 stars . Book 2 in the Karma Club series. What I didn't realize about the series is that each book is written by a different author, each taking one of the four FMCs. It's a clever concept.
Each book contains crossover from the previous book, therefore they can't be read as standalones, and they should be read in order. While the first two books have a common predictability, there is a unique voice for each character/author.
In each of the first two books I've found myself enjoying the MMC and supporting characters far more than the FMC. The main gripe I had with this particular book is that it would switch pov mid paragraph, leaving the flow very confusing. Several times I had to go back and reread paragraphs in order to understand which pov was being represented.
I would definitely continue the series to see how it evolves and wraps up, but I wouldn't expect the next two books to differ much from the first two.

The premise of How To Get Even is what attracted me to the book, namely that 4 women bond over bad relationships and come up with a plan to get even. This is Bella’s book. Bella lands a job at an art gallery whose director is none other than Chase Miller, the man who cheated and lied to her new friend Astrid. This is a straightforward task to Bella: get in, irritate, undermine and besmirch Chase’s reputation, the only thing that seems to matter to him. She didn’t expect to like the job or her coworkers, or unearth a side of herself that she’d long ago buried. She’s left reeling when some information comes to light that changes everything she’s doing.

I liked Bella. She was smart and capable. Chase, on the other hand, was temperamental, blunt and sometimes rude. It took a little bit to warm up to him. The pair had great chemistry. I liked the friendship between Bella, Astrid, Paige and Sienna. They were very supportive and caring of one another. Chase, in contrast, felt a bit like an island. He’d pushed everyone away save for Tej, who simply refused to accept any distance. I enjoyed watching him open up to Bella and watching Bella learn to stand up for what she wanted. The backdrop of the gallery provided some really interesting touches to the plot, enriching it just like art enriches.

4 Stars! This is the second book in ‘The Karma Club’ series but can be read as a standalone too. This was a cute book that I really enjoyed reading. The main characters are Bella & Chase and I liked both of them right off the bat. The story was a bit unbelievable but maybe I’m just not that great of a friend? Oh well. At times I had to start skimming because it just kept going & going, like the Energizer bunny. Betrayal, love, art, pranks, misunderstanding, revenge, with an HEA ending and so much more! All in all it was a great read that I’d recommend. Can’t wait to continue the series!

I just finished this book after reading the first of the series last night.
This series is super fun and easy to read.
You get more of the friendship between the women in this book than in the last book which is great! Their friendship is a strong point throughout the series. Women thrown together through a coincidence and through shared life experiences..
They decide to take revenge on the men that have wronged them. But they’re finding out that there are two sides to every story.
So the entire series is hinging on the miscommunication trope, which I am usually not a fan of at all in this book in particular I don’t mind the miscommunication trope because it’s not as if one character overheard something and didn’t ask questions. It was because one character refuses to Acknowledge any emotional feelings. You know… like an adult 😂
But don’t worry, these ladies will make any man grow up 😬

What a sublime five-star read. This was just great, it’s the second story in the Karma Club series, but they are each written by a different author and tell the story of a different member of a club that you would kill to be part of, as they just have such a bond that you know would never break. Bella is so much more than she appears on the surface and as the story progresses you get to know her so much deeper, you know where she is coming from and how hurt she was, and then how much she has grown into herself as well. Grown into the woman that was hidden underneath for a long time, it just took the strength of three other women to allow her to be seen. This has been a great story and a pleasure to read.

How to Get Even continues the series written across different authors, The Karma Club (aka my new favorite series). This book can be read as a standalone but why do that when The Payback Plan was so much fun?

Bella Carmichael is out for revenge on behalf of her new friend group, targeting Astrid’s artist ex, Chase. Chase has lost his artist mojo and is a brand new Gallery Owner when Bella joins on to handle the PR and Communications (as a cover for the shenanigans she’ll subject Chase to). The second book in the series keeps the tone of the first, which is a feat. Funny but a little more focused on Bella and Chase’s backstories, both main characters and supporting are well written. Of course there’s a bit more to Chase than Bella initially thought and she finds her annoying but less hurtful revenge plots escalated to one with lasting damage and consequences that may be unearned. Bella also finds herself falling for Chase which puts her in a bit of a pickle. Chase, meanwhile, is very heartbreaking in several ways and I found him to be a compelling main character.

I love this series and can’t wait for the next book, which is teased in this one. And let’s all be honest - while all the exes seem like losers until we meet them, there’s definitely one in particular who clearly deserves his revenge and which I can’t wait to read about!

This book was so much fun and i loved the plot and the characters. the FMC was very relatable with the insecurities she faces on a day to day basis. now the MMC was definitely a piece of crap at first and just the most shallow person you could meet but then we got to know him..... and now i just think he needed a hug and someone to talk to. The banter was hilarious and i cant wait to read more from this author.

I adored this book. This book had such a fresh premise and I was all up for it. The FL is a nice character with her own set of insecurities and genuine hurt from getting jilted, Then there was the ML who started off as the most shallow person you could come across. He was hurt from his moms death and that was the end of everything and the rest stopped mattering. Their banter was so much fun to read. The emotional elements made me teary. Although I didn't buy the friend group thing, the revenge thing was refreshing to read. The writing of this book is good.
