The beginning was very slow and filled with so much backstory that I felt we needed a whole book just to get to the point we needed to be at.
it was easy to follow and had a unique take on the whole vampire, ghosts etc which was fresh and kept me reading to the end. A nice change from the usual Urban fantasy
