I really enjoy the concept of this 'arrival'. This volume features meditative portraits of people trying to continue living their lives the same way in a world that is now utterly changed. Odd, eerie, and unique as Warren Ellis usually is.

An interesting, weird, but also engaging science fiction comic.
Among Ellis's best recent works, TREES tells a fascinating story of alien encounter - specifically, I found the fact that they do not perceive us as being particularly intelligent a nice twist on the popular theme. The story packs in quite a bit of commentary, and is well-illustrated.
An interesting start to a new series, I'm interested in reading more.

I'm always looking for books that are engaging or educating or hopefully both for YA students. Call this one "engaging."
