We are back in Marietta Montana again with this series and it focuses on Lily Taylor and Beau Bennett.
Both have been sniping at each other for the last five years, but being her best friends brother there is no way that they can avoid each other. Adding to the fact that she needs to get Beau onboard for a bachelor auction in order to raise funds for her disabled godson, then things are going to change.
Lily has had a bit of a hard life after running away from home when she was sixteen, when she arrived at Marietta all those years ago and people found out that she had been a stripper for a while, a lot of noses had turned and some men wanted more from her, hence her now three year dry spell.
When a letter from an attorney saying she has inherited some money from a man in her past comes her world changes. Being the strong person she is she copes well, even if Beau ends up coming to the rescue.
The connection between the pair is great and the connection once it happens goes very fast. Glad this pair get a decent HEA and that we see six months down the line.
I wasn't expecting a work of art, but at least something that would've kept me engaged. It didn't.
It was filled with clichés, it was predictable, featured bland characters and a very iffy insta-love romance that failed to strike the right notes, but at least it was a quick read.
