Very cool idea for a book, and an excellent execution of that idea. A thoroughly enjoyable read. Recommended. .

Cat DeLuca comes from a family of cops (and crooks), but she is a PI with her PANTS ON FIRE detective agency. Her partner is Inga the beagle. On a jog, beagle trips over a dead body. Just as she turns around she is tazed. When she regains conciousness--Surprise--the body is gone.
Needless to say, the game's afoot. One dead body is not enough, especially if it disappears. But the body count rise, and Cat tries to make sense of it all with her dysfunctional family driving her crazy the whole way.
