Fiction
Grace Carpenter lives on St. Chris. She is smart and as she grows gets a scholarship to secondary school. Phyllis writes letters to her unnamed daughter that she gave up as a baby. Mark is the chancellor at the University of Antilles. There is some past interaction with Grace.
Jimmy was married but after the death of his wife and child, entered a seminary. He spends time with a white missionary, Father John. One day Father John is brutally attacked. Jimmy had a premonition, but Father John brushed it off.
The book felt choppy with disjointed stories and letters. The characters were somewhat developed, and it was written in the third person point of view. I was confused with the ending.
