A very basic book about the complimentarian view of biblical womanhood.
To be honest, when I first started the book, I thought, it would be more about feminism itself. Though it definitely addresses certain thought patterns of feminism, it focuses especially on the biblical counterviews. If you have read Elizabeth George, Nancy Leigh Demoss, etc... you won't find much new here.
But Reissig does a wonderful job in showing us first what womanhood is all about and then talking about the practical implications. So often books fall into the trap of legalism in talking about everything that has to be done if you are a real Christian. This one is very balanced with an emphasis on God's love for us and the fact that it is not about duty, but about showing God to the world.
I was again challenged to reevaluate my beliefs about my womanhood and how I can best serve in the stage of life I'm currently in.
I thank Crossway and NetGalley for an ARC to read and review.
