What a read!
Is there anything else to say?
I really enjoyed this book, it's a good few years since I had read any books by this author and I was looking forward to getting stuck in. a cold wet Sunday afternoon, adulting done meant it was me time, me time with a cuppa and a brew. I needed a distraction, something away from blood and guts of the crime thrillers I normally read and this was just what the Dr ordered.

I read this before realising it's the 2nd book in a series. I don't think it's taken away any of the joy of reading it, clearly as I certainly didn't feel I'd missed out on anything.
Life can be very challenging sometimes, and for 3 sisters it certainly seems that the challenges are there for them.
Sophie, Louise and Julie. 3 very different people. Each facing what is thrown at them through life, each have each others back no matter what. A love of a sisters bond will be broken. isn't it?
This book seemed to cover some great issues in life, some real life issues that a lot of people face. The marriage break up, financial issues, bringing up children, making friends. But this not done like any other books, this is done with the flare and humour that Sinead Moriarty is well known for in her books. I feel this is what sets these books apart from any others.

Brilliantly well written, fun read.

Funny and warm chick-lit about the value of the family.

This is second in the series Devlin Sisters.

Louise, Julie and Sophie are sisters, but they could not be more different from each other. And every one of them is facing different emotions, situations and challenges. Perfectionist and workaholic, lawyer Louise might think she is in control, but not everything is controllable - like the health and future of her daughter. Full-time mum Julie and her husband are rich now after getting some fine inheritance, but their 4 sons are handful - and Julie goes from busy to having way too much of free time in her hands, as Harry seems to be more in love with golf and business than her. Sophie is divorced now and successful in her profession, but lonely - and her daughter Jess seems to prefer the younger lover of her ex-husband as her role model, not Sophie.
But, fortunately, they have each other. And another members of the family, like younger brother Gavin, finally on his own legs (well, more or less).

I quite enjoyed this book, despite some reservations. But first things first - this book is very warm, which I like. The sisters are having the other ones´s backs all the time, even if fighting (or being very honest). Having a couple of sisters myself, I can just thank the book to promote this important relationship/s in the life of (almost) every woman. Sisters can be handful, but they enrich my life so much.
So the Devlins are together vs. the world - and the world might have some aces in their sleeve! But the Devlins are the fighters. And their fights are full of fun, too, and often quite relatable.

And my reservations? Well, Julie is considered being the wonderful mother, but her methods of bringing up her boys are absolutely, absolutely lenient. The children rule in their household, without any consequences or value education. Julie should think about some boundaries and works towards being a mother, not a clueless friend.
There is also too much affirmations to the each other - well, can there be topo much affirmations, you can ask. Well, like too much sugar, it influences the taste - and the super-sweet might become the sugar-coating.

Having said all that - when thinking about fun book to the beach or travelling, this one might be nice, easy-breezy companion offering some positive feelings and warmness.

(I received a free copy of this novel from Net Galley in exchange for an honest review.)

The Devlin sisters rely on each other - but some things are just too painful to share, even when your sisters are your best friends...
Mum-of-four Julie thought that if her family had more money, life would be easier. But now that they've inherited a fortune, her problems are only starting. Lawyer Louise is used to having life go exactly as she wants it to. So accepting that she cannot control everything in her world is beyond her. And former model Sophie can just about cope with getting older - that's until her ex-husband finds a younger model. All three women think that some battles are best fought alone. Maybe they need to think again...

Women's fiction novels can sometimes fall into the trap of being overly sentimental and sugary sweet - this book has none of those problems. Sure, it does have some moments of being a bit "cutesy" or overwrought but, in those cases, they fit the story perfectly and make sense. But there is a lot more to this book than that...

A good story, for me, is more than just characters and plot (oh, don't get me wrong, they are VERY important) and what I got from this book was characters who have to deal with issues above and beyond the normal run-of-the-mill things we all deal with on a daily basis. The sisters have to deal with the struggle with making friends as you get older; the very real issue of getting back into the workplace after having children; an absentee husband who works overseas; children with special needs; and the make-up of blended families. There are a lot more things that come up but, as a reader, I could identify with a few of these which really drew me into the story.

However, having said all that, this book is certainly, without doubt, NOT a drama novel. It is warm, cheerful and funny - oh so very funny. These sisters know each other so well and support each other through every crisis and drama, but never far away is a smile and a laugh.

Overall, I enjoyed this immensely - there were a few small issues I had but not really worth detailing here. I have no problem recommending this book to fans of Marian Keyes or Jane Green.

I really enjoyed this read. I found it to be a refreshing entertaining read with a great storyline.

This story revolves around 3 sisters.

Julie mum of four boys has always struggled financially but all that changes when her husband receives some unexpected inheritance. Can it bring her happiness?

Louise is a single mum of four year old Clara. I’m not gonna say much except to say well done to the author on dealing with the subject.

Sophie is now a single mum after her husband leaves her for someone younger.

Is secrets better kept quiet or shared?

Another great author I can stalk. I was brought up with Irish authors and I’m glad to find another one to follow.
