Another enjoyable book in the Home Front Girls series. Some of the issues covered are really important issues and are discussed with compassion and integrity. The title is a mixture of both happy and sadness which makes it a good all round book. I thoroughly enjoy the series, not least as my husband is from Manchester.
Highly recommend the series to people who enjoy historical fiction with some romance.
Thank you to the author, publishers and NetGalley for allowing me to read an Arc copy.

I have read all the series so far and this one didn't disappoint.
I'm looking forward to the next book, plenty more story lines left to come

This is book 4 in the Home Front Series by Susanna Bavin.
Find out what Lorna and George,Sally and Betty are up to .they are in London in the middle of Ww2.
It's a tear jerker and had me gripped! Excellent book.

aww its like reading a round a letter from friends. i loved being back with the girls. and it felt like it seamlessly left off from where the other one ended but could quite easily be read as a standalone. but i think youd rather get to know these girls and their lives either before this book but definitely after.
its such a beautiful telling of friendship whilst never forgetting the time they were living in and it seemed both factual but also never too overwhelming with the horrors that it felt too much. the way Susanna writes is like she is writing about friends to friends.
we are back with all our favourites. its 1941 and Sally, Betty and Lorna are still working at the salvage depot whilst also supporting eachother and making the best of the times they are in. Sally is of course finding it tough with her husband being away for war. this isnt helped when mother-in law assumes far too much and means Sally has yet more decisions to make. can she stand up for herself? Betty is happy and settling nicely into married life and its great to see her so besotted. i always get nervous when this happens in books though as im wondering when the "is it going to go wrong" will come, haha. but hopefully this is just me and it does go to show how much i love this clan of characters.
Lorna and George are planning to get married but they too now have fresh obstacles to face. not just with their parents but also then with where he is positioned for his own war work. will he even be in the country. will he be alive? and what about everything else that we have in the wedding itself. you cant get cakes made in the war. you cant find slots in church at this time with so many wanting to wed. and even the dress. you dont have new ones are dress shopping. they are begged and borrowed and you get what you can.
this is the 4th book and im so glad to be back. id love for more from this group please. i love every single instalment as much if not better than the rest as we get to know the characters more.

It’s 1941, and Sally, Betty and Lorna are still working at the Manchester Salvage Depot.
Sally is trying hard to fight her feelings with her husband, Andrew, heading off to fight for his country.
Betty has happily settled into married life, and loves her work at the salvage depot.
Lorna and George are hoping to get married, but how will both sets of parents take the news after their previous engagement!
This is the fourth book in the series and still just as exciting as the first book was.
There are always lots of interesting facts put into the books about things that did happen during World War 2.
I have come to love these girls over the series, and I felt so much for Sally, and it was lovely to see her relationship with her mum grow.
My thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for a copy in exchange for my honest review.

Read and reviewed in exchange for a free copy from NetGalley. Having really enjoyed the previous books in the Home Front Girls series, I was excited to be granted an ARC of the latest installment. As ever, this was an engaging read. The characters are well-written, and it is lovely to see their stories and characters progress. Bavin's wartime backdrop is carefully crafted, and the story is full of heart and sensitivity. I'm already looking forward to the next in the series.

A wonderful addition in the series.
A feel good read full of hopes and dreams.
Well written characters and overall a really enjoyable read.
My thanks to netgalley and the publisher for my copy.

The salvage girls Sally, Betty & Lorna are still hard at work at the depot, while being admirably looked after at Star House by Mrs Beaumont. The girls are used to being kept apart from loved ones by war commitments, so Lorna is thrilled when George proposes. Only, there is one person who thinks Lorna isn’t worthy of him and plans to put a spanner in the works. Will they get their happy ever after? Newlyweds Samuel and Betty are still adapting to life but sound as if they are besotted with each other. Sally is having problems trying to pacify her mother-in-law because Mrs Henshaw is going to live with her sister Vera and she thinks that because Andrew is away at war Sally should go with her. Sally puts her foot down saying that she will stay at star house. When an old friend of Sally’s moves into Star House Sally is delighted.
I loved that it was so easy to pick up the story from previous books. If there is one thing this book teaches you it’s not to prejudge people. My favourite character was Mrs Kendall, she sounded so sweet.
The bonus was getting to the end to discover that there will be another one, can’t wait.

A WEDDING FOR THE HOME FRONT GIRLS is the fourth novel in the Home Front Girls series by SUSANNA BAVIN, but it can easily stand alone.
I loved the book and cannot wait for the next one in the series!
The story takes place in 1941 in Chorlton near Manchester where we see the dedication of the girls who are working hard for the war effort against the backdrop of the war and its horrors. We see true and lasting friendships amongst the women as they stand together in both good and bad times……
This is largely Lorna and Sally’s story as they each have very much to overcome…….
I was given a free copy of the book by NetGalley from Bookouture. The opinions in this review are completely my own.

April 1941 Manchester as we start on book four in this absolutely beautiful heartwarming saga, as preparations are well and truly under way for the wedding of Lorna and George with the residents at Star House mucking in. Air raids and rationing won't dampen the mood.
The home front girls Lorna, Sally and Betty take us into another full filling story, of love, friendship, heartache and above all working on together during WW2.
Hopefully this wedding date will go ahead will George make it home in time.
It's time to sit back relax and enjoy another fantastic read, let's not forgetting my wedding hat for the big occasion.
Another story to kick up all your emotions along the way, it's so lovely, perfect right up to the end.
I certainly can't wait for the next book to be published now.
I loved it.

I really enjoyed this book, I feel it gave a good idea about how life was for the women in WW2. Dealing with their men going away to fight and being left home alone potentially for several years to try and get by, getting married etc. these women were so strong and they had a great support system in each other. Well written, full of hopes and dreams for the future. A proper feel good read! Highly recommend great story.
