A sweet little comic depicting the daily activities, and daily misfortunes, of Sad Nuggie the chicken nugget. It's adorable and fun, makes for a good short read if you want to sit down and unwind. The art is lovely, and the comics depict several different situations, varying from comical to a bit more serious and true-to-life. Clearly, given its nature, the book doesn't go too deep or too dark, as most of the scenarios it presents conclude within 4 panels and they are more or less exaggerated, but it does show its cute little protagonist go through several experiences and have thoughts that are affected by depression and anxiety in a surprisingly relatable way. A big thank you to Andrews McMeel Publishing for the advance readers copy.

I haven’t giggled so hard over a quick read in ages. This is graphic novel style. I adored all the wackiness of this and have never identified so much with a sad nuggie as I do now.

Never thought I would relate to a nugget! The story follows Sad Nuggie, a cheerful chicken nugget overwhelmed by adulthood. Despite feeling stressed or depressed, Sad Nuggie remains kind and optimistic. I found myself really relating to Sad Nuggie. The pressures of adulthood hit home, and I appreciated how the story captured that. The artwork was absolutely adorable and added a charming touch to this quick read.

5/5 Sad Nuggie is way too relatable 😭 This little nugget is anxious, overwhelmed, trying to do better, and just wants everyone to be happy?? Same, bestie. It’s sweet, silly, and lowkey emotional in the best way. I smiled the whole time. 🍗💛
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC

I don’t normally read graphic novels, but this one looked so cute I couldn’t resist!
The illustrations are adorable, the scenes are very relatable, validating, sometimes sad and hilarious!
The dedication page might be my all time favorite, I just want to frame it and put it on my wall 🥹
I absolutely loved it and need to have it on my shelf for when life gets a bit too sour and I need a reminder that I’m not alone.
Thank you so much NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for making this ARC available!!

This was so cute and wholesome, and honestly really relatable! Nuggie's little trials and tribulations throughout the day gave me a bit of a chuckle, but I also loved how this comic talked about self-care, therapy & finding community. I related hard to the issues about anxiety, getting fit, dating, and work. I'm glad there was a somewhat happy ending because I was starting to become a sad nuggie too! I'll definitely keep my eye out for more nuggie comics as I got a kick out of this one.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for giving me the opportunity to read Sad Nuggie: Life is Sweet and Sour early!
I had seen Sad Nuggie posts before, and loved them so I was excited to read this one!
It was such a fun, easy, beautiful and relatable read!
I smiled and wanted to hug Sad Nuggie at every page because of how relatable some of the things are.
The drawings are GORGEOUS and make the story so cute!
Also the representation of the days of the week was perfect lol Mondays at work always make you feel like you’re drowning 😭

💗 thank you to NetGalley and Andrews McMeel publishing for the arc! 🍗 🐔
If you're chronically online, you've probably seen Sad Nuggie floating around the internet. And if you're like me, every time you do it makes you wanna squeeze Nuggie and say it's okay, life will all turn out ok.
This book made me want to do that and also say the subway IS scary, eating healthy IS hard, and walks ARE too people-y.
The art style is cute, the panels are all easy to understand and giggle along with (or go "awww 🥹🥹" at). But beyond the cutesy-ness of it all, this book actually serves as a wonderful reminder to just do it. Just live your life. Do it scared, but do it. Do it alone, but do it!

I didnt like this and at first I thought this was some kind of web comic. I was trying to find something good about it because I like to try and support independent artists. However after looking into it I just get the feeling that this is some person or people trying to create the new hot character to shove merch into a Hot Topic. The character of Sad Nuggie lacks any sort of genuine originality.
This little book of comics was pointless. Its a book about a lame character that doesnt do anything besides cry all the time and gets sad because of its own dumb choices.
I got this as an arc from Net Galley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you to Net Galley and the publisher.

Sad Nuggie: Life Is Sweet And Sour is just what the doctor ordered!
Relatable. Bingeable. Adorable.
Having been a long time fan of the OG artwork, comics & the global phenomenon that developed from the artists work this is a thrill to read! So impressed with the illustrations & the depictions of every day struggles with deeper topics like anxiety explored in a gentle way.
I’d recommend to anyone who wants an extra pep in their step.
Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, the illustrator Anastasia & to Sad Nuggie for all the laughs!

Sad Nuggie Life is sweet and sour is an intriguing and aptly titled comic that will ultimately take you on a rollercoaster ride of emotions and thoughts that are resonating and deeply thoughtful with the conclusion of smiles and laughter.
Sad Nuggie is an anxious, cute and adorable chicken nugget who has recently moved to a new city. Smaller tasks seem bigger and scarier. Building friendships, and finding the perfect relationship on Tender isn't working as planned. Everything is oddly overwhelming for the sweet Sad Nuggie. When his therapist asks him to follow a few simple, easy to incorporate tips, he begins to give the advice a chance.
This book is utterly captivating! I'm an avid fan of comics and graphic novels. Sad Nuggie was one of my anticipated releases for this year. And I was not disappointed at all. The illustrations are amazingly detailed, vivid and colourful. The author has tackled the tough subjects of anxiety and intense feelings with humour and fun but not in a way that is disrespectful and arrogant. Rather with every page, the individual situations convey proactive participation and never being afraid of the challenges and unexpected trials that life puts us in. The events were so resonating and hilarious that I couldn't keep myself from laughing out loud
