Woah nelly! Need Me is easily the most convoluted of the series so far. Julianna is up on murder charges and gotta say, it's not looking good because everything points back to her, including some pretty good motives. So when Devlin takes her on as a client (for Sophie from Want Me), it's a tough sell. Julianna looks for all the world like a black widow.
But Devlin, like his VJS mates before him, is hit with insta-lust and just can't shake his desire for Julianna. No series character arcs here, just a wild, wild, wild ride. The more Julianna tries to fight the charges, the deeper into the web she falls and Faith (who I seriously want a book for now, darn sharp cop) struggles to unravel it all. When Ethan comes into play (at last!), it only gets uglier (of course!) because that's par for the course with Ethan. And when Julianna's sister Carly enters the fray, well, suddenly all bets are off.
When the big bad is formally unmasked, I had already had them pegged for a while. but I have to say the ending was somewhat ruined for me by the motivations of said big bad. Talk about a let down!
That said, Need Me is extremely similar to the other books in the Dark Obsession series so if you like them, you won't be disappointed with this one. Only one more left and that is (finally!) Ethan's book.
I enjoyed this 3rd book in the Dark Obsession Series. It featured Julianna, who is the primary suspect in her husband's murder, and Devlin, part of VJS Protection. Julianna knows she's being stalked by her husband's killer and she asks Devlin to be her bodyguard. The attraction between them flares up quickly and they are soon involved. It is clear that Julianna is in serious danger, and Devlin is determined to protect her and figure out who is behind the murder and stalking.
This one had good characters and a very interesting storyline.
