Rosie is living an unauthentic life. She pretends everything is going great, but she’s floundering. She accepts a new job as a director of theatre at a retirement community- not the dream job, but the job she needed.

Rosie learns how to be authentic and how to speak her mind. There’s also some romance involved.

I enjoyed this book. It was a quick read, not overly emotional, funny, and endearing. Solid 4 stars.

I listened to this on audiobook- narrator was great!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for an audio copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I found the beginning/middle of this story to drag on but thoroughly enjoyed the ending. I was hoping for more depth in Rosie's character development and finally saw it towards the end of the book. Regardless, I did find myself sucked into the story and rooting for the characters, especially Arthur. I will recommend this to people who are looking for a lighthearted romance/chick lit story. 3 out of 5 stars!

With a title like Everything's Coming Up Rosie and such a cute cover, who could resist this new release from Courtney Walsh and Thomas Nelson Publishing?! Luckily, it's not all flash, but substance too. Don't miss this adorably sweet five-star read about chasing dreams and accepting who you are.

Rosie's dream has always been to make it big as an actor. For years she's had half a foot in the door, getting just enough jobs to keep her going, but her big breakout moment remains elusive. She's on the verge of a full out existential crisis when she applies to every possible job she can think of willy-nilly style, and takes the first (and only) job she's offered. When she shows up in Wisconsin, she realizes she should have actually read the job description, because putting on an entire production as a director is a bigger bite than she's qualified to chew, even if it is 'only' for a retirement community's theater program.

Oh, this book. I want every young girl to read this. Rosie has a dream she's chasing, but she's never stopped to think about why she's chasing it, and if it's really even what she wants. As she slogs through the problems she's facing with the play, she gains confidence, experience, and friendships along the way. In the end, the situation she thought was just going to pay the bills until she moved on to bigger and better things turned out to be just the thing she needed to become her happier, healthier self. New and improved Rosie!

There is also a very sweet romance subplot with a man called Booker. He won he over quickly when he shrugged and said "I'm a hard person to know". With a line like that, you just know someone else put that into his head. The friendship he and Rosie have is so sweet and romantic and a little bit risky, because opening up your heart is always a risk.

I was blown away by this book. Every aspect was just done so well, and I was fully engaged. There were a few ways that seemed plausible for the plot to go, but it still kind of surprised me, and I was proud of Rosie and her ultimate decisions.

This is a book I would put into the 'feel-good' category, which, to me, is hard to achieve. If you need a lift in spirits this summer (or ever), Rosie's got your back!

Note:: I received an early copy of this book from the publisher through netgalley in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

The premise was cute but I had to start the story many times. The narrator wasn't my favorite and the fmc was not very likeable or memorable for me. I wanted the romance to be more prominent, instead of an after thought. I am glad it had a hea and I would try this author again

Everything’s Coming Up Rosie by Courtney Walsh audiobook ARC
Narrated by Jorjeana Marie

I got to read the book first and then I got the audiobook. Narrator Jorjeana Marie was the perfect choice for Rosie. I loved the romance and the plot, it was perfectly balanced.
Rosie is very relatable, nothing in her life or career is going how she thought and is struggling. She ends up getting a directing job but it's not what she thinks.
Booker is her perfect match and helps Rosie open up and she finds her true self again.
This rom-com has quirky-witty-banter, life challenges/ lessons, only kissing, lovable side characters, and you definitely need tissues on hand.

Thank you NetGalley and Thomas Nelson and Zondervan Fiction Audio for the audiobook ARC.

This was an easy, feel good read, written with a lot of heart and you’ll know why when you read the authors note. I found the beginning to be a bit slow but once I got into it, it was a pleasant story.

The narration was a little cringe-y, sounding almost like baby talk at times. So, yes, read this sweet book but skip the audio version when it publishes June 10.

Thanks NetGalley and the publishers for this advanced audiobook copy!

This did not start out well for me and I momentarily stopped listening. Then I went back and started anew and I am so glad I started again for I adored this listen. Rosie is in a state of flux. At a crossroad of sorts. She loves acting and is good, but things are not going well. On top of that she has been keeping all of her besties from home at bay. They’re all living their best lives and she’s feeling less than so, tells them nothing and has backed away, but loves them all. When she finds herself in an unexpected situation of her own making, she is not thrilled. That is until she lets go of her self doubt, opens herself up to possibilities and it changes her world. She is not looking for any romantic entanglements. None, nope, not at all. Enter Booker and that plan goes out the window. He is a great guy that everyone adores and oh happens to be gorgeous and yet she keeps trying to convince herself this is not going to work. The best laid plans…A great cast of characters of sweet, kind, good natured, loving, snarky, funny people that we get to join along for a great well narrated listen with a perfect ending.

I’m not gonna lie, when I first started this book, I wasn’t sure if I loved it because of how unserious it was or hated it for how silly it was. But the more into the book I got, the more I loved it. It definitely reads more like a women’s fiction that a romance (though there is a sub plot of that) but it was more. It was about found family and the complexities of friendship and passion and art and growing up. It was about finding yourself even in the UNEXPECTED. It touched me way deeper than I imagined and I loved it. It still was a little silly for my taste, but that’s okay. It was overall a great book and I would definitely recommend it. Good job Courtney Walsh! Here’s to another great one. And the audio of the book was impeccable. A really great job the the narrator and the production!

Rosie moved to NYC to pursue her dream of becoming an actress. Her friends and family seem to think she is thriving. She did play a corpse on Law and Order after all, but she feels like she is failing, and her most recent way off Broadway show was just cancelled, and her roommates have kicked her out for not being able to pay rent. She has been lying to her best friends back home, so they have no idea how dire her situation is. When she panic, applies to a bunch of acting and directing job,s and get offered one that seems too good to be true, she shows up in Wisconsin to discover that instead of being part of a creative team to work on Cinderella, she is charged with saving the theatre program at a retirement community. She makes friends with an unlikely cast of characters, including Booker the on-site physical therapist and potential love interest who moved to the retirement community to be closer to his grandmother, Arthur, a grouchy member of the community who we learn was a director and NYC theater teacher, and Daisy, an angsty teenager who just needed someone to see her.
If you like slow burns, this one is for you. I did not think I was going to get my HEA, and this book kinda broke my heart for a bit there. I don't want to spoil too much for you, so read it yourself and break your own heart!

**Edit** I read this as an ARC and enjoyed it so much, that I had to listen to it, and I will say that I enjoyed the audio version as well and even found that I missed some things in the print versions that I picked up on in the audio. The characters were so charming and I loved the story so much.

Courtney Walsh has quickly become an autoread for me, and I couldn’t wait to dive into Everything’s Coming Up Rosie.

Like Walsh’s other works, Rosie’s development is central to the story, with a delightful romance playing close second string. Rosie’s sense of disillusionment with her life, as her friends hit typical ‘success’ milestones is so relatable. I also love the way Walsh plays with characters of different ages and perspectives. Rosie is hit with a dash of humility when she finds herself directing a play for an old folks home, but it’s the perfect way for her to explore her relationship with acting, and discover some hard truths.

Rosie’s chemistry with Booker is so sweet and I loved their earnest and honest relationship. There was a wonderful maturity in their dynamic which was so satisfying. The story was well paced, and had just the right balance of unpredictability and dependability for a rom com.

I was fortunate to enjoy this both as an audio and book and would recommend both! The narration was wonderful, and perfectly captured the many dramatic characters and situations in this story.

Thank you to the publishers for an early copy of this book. Opinions expressed are my own.

I loved this book! It was an uplifting read. It was great to see Rosie’s evolution/growth throughout the book. My only criticism is that Rosie’s relationships with the residents were not developed. I thought that relationships with people like Bertie should have been the focus of the story. The reason that I selected the book was because it was the cutest concept! If Rosie had developed deeper relationships with the residents, it would have been natural for her to accept the full time position as Theater Director. I was so disappointed that she chose to go to Chicago and throw away a great, stable opportunity.

This one had such a fun and heartfelt premise—I was hooked right away by Rosie and her whirlwind situation. The middle dragged a little more than I wanted, and I think it could’ve been tighter overall, but the emotional payoff was worth the wait. The narration was top-notch and really brought the characters to life.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4 stars for a charming, feel-good story with a whole lot of heart. PG for light romance and emotional themes.

This was cute but I had a hard time engaging with the story. The pacing felt a bit off and the FMC felt a bit immature for her late 20s. Although I’m not sure if it was for the narrator on audio or if the actual character. It also felt like the romance was a subplot instead of the main plot which for a romcom I feel is a bit off. Overall cute and light story with a HEA.

Thank you to Net Galley and the publisher for both an e-arc and audio arc.

A heartfelt, character-driven story about growth, friendship, and finding the courage to let go of the life you thought you wanted. One of the most touching parts for me was “Non-Fiction Fridays”—a slow, intentional way the characters began to open up to each other, building trust and emotional safety over time. It’s a quiet but powerful representation of how vulnerability doesn’t have to happen all at once.

Rosie’s journey is very real, though I’ll admit I found her lack of honesty—especially with her friends, family, and herself—a bit frustrating at times. That said, there are so many lovely, meaningful moments throughout, including the quote that really stuck with me: “You can’t make anyone feel anything if you don’t feel it yourself.”

The romance is closed-door, but the chemistry between Rosie and Booker still shines. Their banter is adorable and brought a sweet, light-hearted energy to the story.

I listened to this one as an audiobook and really enjoyed the narration—it brought the characters to life and made the emotional moments even more impactful. If you enjoy slower-paced books that dig into emotional growth and the evolving nature of happiness, this one’s worth picking up.

I really enjoyed this cute, heartwarming story. It's a romance based around a girl trying to find her way in this world while following her dreams. I'm sure a lot of us could find that relatable. And, I mean, can you imagine anything sweeter than directing a retirement village to play Cinderella?! Just me, ok. Lol

I loved this book. I am in a transitional time in my career. I am leaving one vocation to go back to grad school. It’s scary and exciting. Rosie is going through the same thing. This book is such a true depiction of growing into yourself in a lighthearted way. The characters in this book are sincere and lovely. It’s entertaining and also speaks to the true nature of figuring out what you want in life and how to get it. This book is sweet and simple. It’s a fun read. It reminds me of talking to my best friends about what comes next. Such a fun read.

If you’re looking for a sweet, light hearted romcom then Courtney Walsh is your girl! I’ve really enjoyed everything by her that I’ve read, and Rosie was no different.

Rosie wants nothing more than to be a successful actor, but when all of her plans fall apart and she’s forced to look everywhere and anywhere for her next gig. When she’s offered a directing job for a production of Cinderella Rosie jumps at the chance to get one foot back on the stage. She soon realizes this production is not what she expected.

I really enjoyed Rosie’s story! At the beginning of the book she starts in a place of relatable self doubt and constant comparisons. She wants to live a life that people will be proud of. I’m being vague just in case people want to be surprised — but her shock when she found out how unique her production would be and the fun setting of this story won me over. And Booker was also a fun addition. ;)

Rosie's down on her luck. She's an actress without a job and desperate times call for desperate measures, so she decides that she's going to apply for anything and everything. When a job offer comes in that seems too good to be true. She has no choice but to take it. Unfortunately, she didn't pay close enough attention to the job listing, or the email that was sent to her and she's beyond shocked to learn that she's the director of a theater that is basically staffed by members of the retirement community she works for.

I was prepared to not like the book toward the end because Rosie decides to follow her dreams instead of staying with the retirement community. I thought she'd lose out on her happily ever after. But Ms. Walsh didn't fail me and I was so very happy to see how Rosie's HEA came about.

If you love theater, sassy older people, HEA, and characters, you just want to be your friends/grandparents - then this book is for you.

I'd like to thank the publisher (Thomas Nelson and Zondervan Fiction Audio) and NetGalley for the opportunity to listen to this audiobook. The narrator Jorjeana Marie did an exceptional job reading the characters and keeping you immersed in the story. Kudos!
