Summer at the Shore by V.K. Sykes

Summer at the Shore is a fun beach read, albeit not as romantic as I had hoped it would be. I felt like Morgan and Ryan were missing something. There's little to no angst, no real obstacles to keep them apart, no real fight to make things work. It all just happened, and it took forever. I really liked them both, but the passion just wasn't there for me. I really liked the island setting and the characters were all great. The writing is good. Even though it's the second book in a series, it can be read as a standalone like I've done. There are appearances from people I can only assume were in the first book, but I didn't feel like I was missing any important information. I'm interested in reading more from this author!

This story is about Morgan Merrifield who put aside her teaching career to help save her families B& B after her dad died. And Ryan Butler an ex-Special Forces soldier coming home to visit with his parents. Morgan has had a crush on Ryan for awhile but Ryan has no plans to settle down.As they spend time together does Ryan change his mind,or do they stay friends? I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
