Erin’s Kiss
Little reading pleasure to be had here since this book is a middle of the series novella. I think anthologies should include stand alone novellas since your not really getting your moneys worth unless you followed the series. Still it’s a Lora Leigh book and who can resist that?

What did I like? Turk Rogan security for the Broken Bar has his eye on the bartender Erin. After closing one night he gives into his body’s demand for one kiss.

Would I recommend or buy? Unless you’ve read this series there is little pleasure to be had from reading this novella. So go forth and do what you will.

Thoughts for the author? Stand alone for anthologies would be greatly appreciated.

MisTaken

Second novella in Hot Alpha’s anthology, and I liked it so much better. This one is part of a series to but holds up so much better as a standalone than the first novella did. Jaylene Kim of a Korean descendant is a feminist who doesn’t believe in romance. New guy Noah Harrison moves in next door and catches her eye.

What did I like? Noah has some secrets of his own, a loner, introvert, but dominant male likes what he see’s when he looks at Jaylene. Jaylene has some feminist stand point which almost seem ridiculous on the wrong guy...and so good on the right one.

Would I recommend or buy? I thought this novella was great and I would definitely be interested in more of this series, just hawt.

Thoughts for the author? I rarely give above a three for a novella sized book, would love to see the rest of the series though. I received a copy and this is my opinion.

Burn for me

(Wolf Whistle) wow, burn for me is aptly named. Tate loses himself in Ali’s arms almost every night refusing to give her more. His mother has been missing for 15 years, and he blames his father for the disappearance. Ali, is a young mother of two boys, and part owner of a pizza parlor. She wants more from Tate but does he have it to give?

What did I like? This is a sweltering hot read. Tate and Ali have scorching chemistry and a three year relationship that looks like it’s going no where. Ali has enough of watching Tate tear himself apart over the disappearance of his mother.

Would I recommend or buy? This is a prequel to a series, and really well written. I would recommend and probably buy the series. This is one amazing writer.

Thoughts for the author? Loved it... definitely going to check out the rest of this story. This story makes the anthology better. I received a copy of Hot Alpha’s and this is my opinion.

I received a copy of this story to read and give my opinion. Nathan has taken a job in a wine vineyard, but one look at the previous owner and he is hooked. Cassie still gets to be part of the vineyard even though she’s had to sell due to her fathers poor investments. Her father has Alzheimer’s and in order for her to pay for his care she gives up ownership to the vineyard, but still runs it for the current owner.

What did I like? Colonel Mac...Cassie’s father has hidden some CIA worthy stuff at the vineyard and his Alzheimer’s mind forgets. Nate and Cassie hit it off but when someone keeps sneaking around the property they are not sure what they could be after. This is a cute story with a tiny bit of suspense.

Would I buy or recommend? If you like insta love type story then this might be for you. It had some cute parts and it’s part of an anthology called Hot Alpha’s.

Thoughts for the author? I’m not a big buyer of anthologies, I prefer fleshed out stories to these types. Three stars.

This anthology contains four enjoyable novellas. Burn for me by Shiloh Walker was my favorite of the four stories. It had great characters, an interesting storyline, and was a good start to a series.

I also really enjoyed Tangled by Kate Douglas. This was the first I have read by her, and I will try more. I was kept interested and entertained by her story.

The stories by Lora Leigh and Laurelin McGee were okay, but I didn't enjoy them as much as the other two.
