Thank you so much for the chance to listen to the audiobook.
The FMC is childish and very immature. I appreciated the insight and the author’s experience of women in STEM, but the FMC speaks so poorly of men. I understand if they were to be entitled or full of male ego, but they weren’t.
I felt like there was nothing to make the reader feel connected to the FMC. (I’ve read books of women in STEM but they had qualities that stuck out to readers.) Which is why I’m DNFing.
I enjoyed the narration and how the Narrator voiced male characters. In many audiobooks that can be a big hit or miss.

Trishara is a hard working engineer and deserves a promotion, along with a trip to Hawaii. Rafe, the bosses son, does not. But they end up together, in Hawaii, on a work trip, sharing a suite and the sparks fly!
The narrator has a great voice as a female and it wasn’t awful as a male either.
Cute story but incredibly slow burn.

4.25 stars This was my first read by Nisha J. Tuli — and even though she’s best known for her fantasy novels, her first venture into contemporary romance completely won me over! Not Safe for Work hit all the marks I look for: it was engaging, easy to get lost in, and fun from start to finish.
I had the pleasure of listening to this as an audiobook ARC, and the narration by Soneela Nankani was absolutely fantastic. She brought Trishara’s strength, wit, and vulnerability to life perfectly, making the story even more immersive.
We follow Trishara Malik, a smart, talented engineer who’s still carrying the weight of a traumatic experience from her previous job — a so-called “progressive” startup that turned out to be anything but. Now, five years into her current role, she’s offered the chance to attend a work retreat in Maui, Hawaii. The catch? She’ll be stuck with her longtime rival, Rafe Gallagher — who just so happens to be the boss’s son.
And if that wasn’t enough, a booking mishap means there’s only one room… with one bed.
The story is a slow burn in the best way — the chemistry builds naturally, and when the spice finally hits, it’s tasteful and perfectly placed. I stayed entertained the whole way through, and the writing made it such an easy, enjoyable read.
Overall, Not Safe for Work was a delightful surprise. I’ll definitely be picking up more from Nisha J. Tuli, both her fantasy and contemporary works!
Side note Mrs. Tuli, that letter at the end was utter perfection! 👏🏼 👏🏼👏🏼
I would like to thank NetGalley, Hachette Audio and the author for allowing me to listen to an Arc and allow me to provide an honest review.

The STEM romance gods are blessing us again and this one is bound to be a smash hit. With work place enemies to lovers set in a work retreat that has an edge of competition, it’s the perfect setting for their collision, especially with only one hotel room. Our FMC Trishara is a bright, bold firecracker I mean truly, get out of her way, this woman is powerful and smart and reading to roundhouse kick that glass ceiling wide open. An Engineer who gets the shock of her life when she gets picked for a work retreat in Hawaii, unfortunately she’s paired up with the crush she hate loves, her enemy in lusting, her bosses son. The sparks fly whilst the claws come out and let me just say they hate each other bad, bad bad, I mean these two are down bad and it is DELICIOUS! So much sexual tension this book might burst into flames. This is definitely for the slow burn addicts who want to see their characters fight against that “F it” moment with everything they have while be absolutely feral for each other. It’s giving Mr. Darcy’s hand flex vibes. We are being FED here!
But this is no mere steamy romance with spine cracking tension, it’s so much more. The workplace is the perfect setting to showcase real world issues that face women in STEM, women in workplaces in general and it will undoubtedly make people feel seen. It discusses nepotism, white privilege and male provide in the workplace and how that affects women every single day, especially WOC and marginalized folks. It doesn’t shy away from the very real truths of our world and I couldn’t get enough of this as someone who is retired from STEM. It felt like a thousand moments I second guessed micro aggressions and my feelings were vindicated in my heart because clearly it’s not just me experiencing these things. I also really loved the migraine rep as someone who gets them chronically. This story is honest and true, and an ode to all of the women out there kicking ass and taking names amidst a sea of khaki STEM overloads wishing us ill. It’s a breath of fresh air to have this representation and all I can say is FANTASTIC! Give me 14 more of them right now.
Narration:
Soneela Nankani’s narration is full of emotional range! Diverse voices for wide array of characters with an especially fantastic MMC voice. Great timing and pacing that can be read at any speed. Vocal changes are smooth and you forget it’s just one narrator. Her delivery of emotions on page is exactly why human voices can never be replaced by Ai narration. In my opinion this book leaps to life with this narration and truly feels like a movie playing in your head. It’s a must listen!
Thank you so much to Forever and Nisha J Tuli for sending me the physical ARC as a gift. Thank you to Hachette Audio and NetGalley for the ALC in exchange for my honest review.

This is a fun summer read, but I also feel like it's not for me. I don't think that I'm into characters getting it on at work. It's not hot to me and the ending felt rushed. Some of the story also felt too convenient, and I didn't really feel invested in them getting together. The narrator is good though and it was an easy read. If you like office romances, and forced proximity, you might like this one!

An enemies to lovers work place romance sign me up. This audiobook was an easy quick read that I devoured in one day. I raged at all the comments, jabs and racist remarks but know they happen everyday and every women has to choose how to cope. The romance was spicing and the plot was interesting and captivating. I enjoyed the tropes in this one but don't want to spoil the plot so I won't list them. The narrator Soneela Nankani did an amazing job and I enjoyed the different voices for the different characters. This is my third book by Nisha this year and I have loved them all.

God I love it when an author switches genres and it actually hits!!!
Nisha is so talented and you can tell that so much of her own experience in the world of engineering are infused into this book. Felt very real and at times so frustrating - a male dominated workplace will do that to a woman,
Now to the romaaaance: Trisha & Rafe were so dang HOT and the dislike/haters to lovers really did work here. There was always chemistry of course and all they needed was some close proximity and a lil luxury tropical company trip to tip their animosity into passionate lurve! And they were so soft with each other - Trisha to Rafe with his real career goals and Rafe to Trisha with her past shitty relationship (& fear of storms).
I hope Nisha writes more contemporary romance because I will be sat ready and waiting to consume it.
So so so impressed with the narration as well, Soneela had me so hooked I binge listened to this in a day!
Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and author (Nisha you’re a legend) for the opportunity to listen to the ALC!
4.5

Such a fun and angsty rom com!!!!!
I honestly ate this UP! The tropes were troping and the characters are HOT. I love reading about a woman in a man dominated work field personally, they’re so bad ass.
Trish has been passed up for promotions and advances her career while her male coworkers continually succeed. When she gets picked to go on a work trip with Rafe, the CEOS son, tensions are high.
Rafe proves himself to be a good man. Despite what his appearances suggest, he’s not a career climbing nepo bang thank god. I LOVVEEED his character development and finding his happiness in his own career.
The audiobook is sooooo good. The readers voice is perfect, I could sped up to 2x and still understood her completely. I find sometimes a one person narration vs a dual can be hard to do well, but this is PERFECT.
Thank you NetGalley and Hachette for the free audiobook

Did this just become one of my favorite reads in 2025? Seriously I want to give it 6 out of 5 ⭐️ This had all the feels, and it had me absolutely hooked from start to finish. As always Nisha is the QUEEN of slow burn, and I seriously was ready to combust. Tris and Rafe’s chemistry is absolute 🔥 They somehow embrace the equivalent of grade schoolers picking on the boy/girl they like, and yet it’s appealing and fun.
This story reminds me a Spanish Love Deception, which is 1000% a good thing because that was the story that made me love Contemporary Romances. As with SLD, Tris is a woman in a male dominated field and unfortunately she deals with the bias and sexism that comes with it. I had no idea before this that Nisha was in STEM originally and her foreword was opening. It’s infuriating and heartbreaking to know this is still a reality for intelligent and driven women, but I love how Trish handles herself in NSFW and I hope there are women are there who are helped by this story.
Soneela Nankani is a wonderful narrator. Her diction and the emotions she exudes in her style bring this story to life. She gives characters their own unique qualities that make it easy to follow along, and quite honestly, I genuinely enjoy her voice. Don’t be surprised if you see me finding more books narrated by her in the future
All around an amazing story and production and I cannot thank Hachette Audio and Nisha J Tuli enough for the ALC opportunity 🫶🏻

Ok , this book is the first one from this author for me.
The writing was really good and I enjoyed.
The plot was interesting and enjoyable.
Now the interactions of the main couple sometimes was great and sometimes gave me backlash.
Their bickering was cute at times and annoying at others .
But it was entertaining and the audio was really good and helped a lot with the backlash this two were giving me by being stubborn thru the whole book. I really did like that they both found their way to each other and to their real passions at the end of it

Not Safe for Work is a hilarious yet meaningful romcom novel that had me both laughing and angry. The themes of workplace equality really hit home for me on this one, as it's something that happens every day, and I'm glad that it wasn't just skimmed over or avoided altogether.
The characters and plot were fantastic, and I loved Trishara, the FMC, because of her strong will and determination to do what was best for herself. Rafe, the MMC, was a piping hot cinnamon roll if I do say so myself, and I loved that he was so protective of Trishara from the start. The romance was slooooow burn to the max, and I kept waiting for it to bust, and when it did. I DEVOURED it.
The narrator, Soneela Nankani, did such a fantastic job conveying the emotions in this book that I was completely engrossed in listening. Narrators can be hit or miss for me, but the passion Soneela put into this was present, and I'll definitely be on the lookout for other books she narrated.
Overall, Not Safe for Work was a funny, banter-filled, and will-they-won't-they romcom that I would recommend to anyone who needs a fast, (mostly) light-hearted read with the best HEA.
Thank you to both Hachette Audio and NetGalley for providing the ALC.

I really liked this! I would say it’s more rivals to lovers and not necessarily enemies to lovers. The pace was just right for me I like how we basically almost immediately jumped into the plot and I liked the twist on the one bed trope.

https://www.goodreads.com/user/show/92234342-courtneyA great beach read set in a luxury Maui resort that is perfect for anyone who loves a slow burn with forced proximity! After loving Artefacts of Ouranos, I couldn't wait to read Tuli's take on a Rom-Com and it was exactly what I was hoping to read!
I read the Arc and was thrilled to get a chance to listen to the audiobook as well. The narration is excellent and really adds to the story! I'd highly recommend it for anyone looking for a good audiobook!

Thank you NetGalley for an early copy!
I actually liked the audiobook for this. the narrator as well and full cast. it was very cute and funny.

Sparks fly between work enemies as Tris and Rafe are selected to attend a retreat in Hawaii. This was my first book by the author and I was pleasantly surprised at how much this romance worked for me! Just the right kind of slow-burn with great chemistry between the characters, killer FMC and swoony tortured hero MMC.
I thought Tris was super likable, very smart and relatable. The book is entirely from her POV and we really get to know her throughout the story. It’s a fun enemies to lovers romance with a STEM theme, they’re in Maui and the atmosphere was tropical and relaxing. I really enjoyed the work drama plot, Chapter 28 is particularly outstanding in the finale!
The romance started out slow, a previous work relationship and its fallout hang over Tris’ head, and her reluctance to purse relations with Rafe were a big hurdle. Once the characters got together it was fast and steamy, with a small wrench thrown in to add tension. Recommending this to fans of Summery enemies to lovers romances!
Thank you to Hachette Audio for the free audiobook. Narration by Soneela Nankani was entertaining and made the story come to life. I loved the snark and delivery for Tris. Her timing and performance was great!

3.5/5 ⭐️
“Enemies” find themselves on a work trip to paradise and “gasp” there is only one bed. Not Safe For Work does its best to live up to the name as there is very little done professionally on this trip or really anywhere else. Overall it does a pretty good job of incorporating workplace and personal issues into this slow burn romance.

Loved this one ❤️ the workplace romance enemies to lovers was written so well, and Tris is a superhero. An fmc working in a job that is stereotyped heavily with white men instantly caught my attention. Learning that Nisha Tuli has lived in the woman working in the engineer world trying to fight racial AND gender stereotypes and microagressions just sold me on this even further.
I loved that Rafe had a secret "hobby"? and that he always stood up for Tris even if they hated each other. Even with his own family and friends.
The female friendships formed are underrated. Lan, Molly, and Gabrielle all deserve their own books and HEA. Interconnected standalones in this world, please!

This review and rating is for the audiobook only. A detailed one about the book is on GR!
I lived the narration and production of this book! The narrator did an amazing job. She portrayed the emotions and the dialogues and the feelings really well. Her pronunciations were easy to understand too! Highly enjoyed it.

I couldn't get enough of this book. I stayed up late to finish it because I didn't want to leave Rafe and Tris hanging- which I am so glad that I didn't. I absolutely loved this book.
Tris was so relatable on so many levels. I love her inner strength and her attitude at the end! What a way to say goodbye to people who don't value you. Standing ovation.
I loved Rafe's mystery and oh man, their banter was on fire. His forearms. :melting:
I highly recommend this book! It was spicy, some easter eggs from Nisha's other books. Which I squeeled. Love love love.
Loved Soneela Nankani as the narrator. She had great range with all the different characters. Very easy to follow.
Recommend this as an audiobook. I loved it sooo much!

I adored this book! Not Safe for Work gave me everything I crave in a contemporary romance—real enemies to lovers tension that actually lasts the whole way through, a heroine who’s sharp, talented, and navigating a tough industry, and a hero with layers that unfold so perfectly.
Trishara and Rafe’s chemistry is off the charts, but what really stood out to me was how well Nisha J. Tuli explored what it’s like to be a woman in a male dominated field, and not just that, but a woman of color. Trishara’s struggles were so real and relatable. You could feel the pressure she was under at every turn, and it was infuriating and validating all at once. She’s wildly capable, yet constantly having to prove herself, and that hit hard.
The single POV worked beautifully here. Getting the story solely from Trishara’s perspective let us experience her frustrations, her growth, and ultimately her slow discovery of who Rafe really is beneath the smug facade. It made his character arc even more satisfying once his real self started to shine through.
Also, can we talk about the migraine rep? It was so refreshing to see chronic pain handled with nuance. Trishara’s migraines weren’t just a throwaway detail, they were a part of her daily reality and added so much depth to her character and the challenges she faced.
And the forced proximity in this one?? Chef’s kiss. The whole “only one bed” and being stuck in a hotel suite together absolutely heightened the tension to a delicious level. Every scene between them crackled.
The ending? Perfection. No spoilers, but the way things wrapped up for both Trishara and Rafe was so satisfying and well-earned. It was emotional, empowering, and just… exactly what I wanted.
This was my first book by Nisha J. Tuli (I usually stick to contemporary romance), but now I have to check out her fantasy series. I’m officially a fan!
Also… can we please get a book for Molly? I would love to stay in this world just a little longer. Highly recommend this one, it's a standout in the genre and one I’ll be shouting about for a while!
I thought the narration was done well. I wish we could have had Rafe's voice as duet narration, but I did really enjoy the female narration of the character.
Thank you to Hachette Audio for this ALC. All opinions are my own.
