I used to play video games that were Mortal Kombat and other ones that were similar to it so this book was a fun read! There were a few instances that I was a little confused, but I think that was due to not being as familiar with the overall concept and world of Mortal Kombat as I would have liked to have been. However, I would definitely continue reading the story with volume 2. I would recommend this graphic novel to only the students who could understand that the story does have fighting as well as mature themes and those aspects do not affect them in a sensitive manner.
