I'm sorry I was not able to read and review this book before it was archived due to serious health issues.

I have a particular fondness for historical fantasy novels set in Victorian England, especially ones that include elements of ghosts, psychics and steampunk!!! I've been in love with books like this since Cassie Clare's infernal Devices series. The main character, Alex, is gutsy, intuitive and genre-savvy my favourite combination.

Female detectives and mysterious deaths, ghosts oh my!! I love alternate histories and magical England, and this preview touched on all of those sweet spots. I'm sad I only got a preview, but this is a definite addition to my TBR.

I requested this book roughly three years ago and since then my taste in literature has changed very much, so I no longer intend to read and review this. Apologies to the publisher and author, I wish you all the best.

Fast read, a quite entertaining long excerpt of a steampunk mystery YA, one of my favourite genres (if made well).
