This is the 3rd book in the Carolina Cold Fury Hockey series and all in all it was a good book. I enjoyed reading it down at the beach. I felt bad for Zack since losing the mother of his son, Ben, who was killed in a car accident that he felt responsible for. But at the same time I thought his character lack a little maturity.

Zack Grantham is a hockey player for the Cold Fury, hence the Cold Fury Hockey Series. We learn that Zack has lost the mother of his son, Gina in an accident. Zack and Gina never got married because he never felt that she was the for him, but he did love Gina and have feelings for her for sure. Zack has been living with a lot of guilt because he was the one driving the truck that Gina was killed in. How can someone get over that? Well, Zack has to decide how to get on with his life. No women interest him nor can they spark his interest in anything sexually anymore.
Zack has been out of work with an injury and is finally ready to go back now. The only problem Zack has is that he needs help with his son, Ben now that he is going to be gone some. Zack's sister helps him find a good nanny that seems to be the perfect fit. Roberta Francis, AKA Kate, is a young lady that comes from poverty and does not pay much attention to how she looks. Kate has a way with kids though that leaves Ben really liking her and Zack falling hard for her. Kate is always hiding behind clothes that are too big for her though. Some people would call Kate a dork for the way that she dresses and acts.
Is Zack going to fall in love with Kate or is it going to be just like every other woman that can't even seem to arouse him? Zack and Kate decide to leave it at a sex only relationship for awhile because Zack has made up his mind that he can't love another woman. While the relationship between Zack and Kate is steamy, there are times when I felt sorry for Kate because of some of the things that Zack said or did to her. We all know that he was just trying to work through things but people have feelings. Will Kate and Zack get their HEA with Ben as well? You will have to read this one to find out for your self. I thought Sawyer Bennett hit it out of the park with this one. I am anxious to see if she can top Zack with the next Cold Fury Hockey book!
