If you have read any previous Turtledove books you will instantly feel familiar with Bombs Away, the start of a new series. From the multiple-perspective storytelling to the hypothetical "what-ifs", this is Turtledove at his best, you will find yourself thinking "This could have happened". I even found myself researching, in the middle of the book, the difference between atomic and nuclear bombs. It is frightening - did we ever come close to this happening? I must confess that I was a Turtledove fan before I started reading this book (this series is not quite as good as The Great War series) so I may be biased - but I loved this series and after the cliffhanger ending I cant wait to see what happens next!
