This was entirely too similar, in mannerisms, to Fifty Shades of Grey for me. Ultimately, though, my undoing was the total lack of brain cells in our female heroine. Grace is more than just young and sheltered, she is sort of a complete idiot. It's almost like she's never been around other human beings in her life. Sure, the sex and smut and chemistry is fun, but it comes at the cost at accepting that your heroine truly has no real sense of self or choice.
I have a copy of Fifty Shades of Grey and think that that's one book and this is another. I think that both of the books are individual and Unbound- Colours of Love it's also unique in its own way.
I enjoyed some of the story but other parts dragged. That said, the characters were well formed. and it was good to experience how another 50 Shades of Grey- type plot might unfold.
Thanks to Kathryn Taylor and Bastel Entertainment for my eARC in exchange for an honest and voluntary interview.

This book drew me in from the start. I loved every step and every turn. The passion and intrigue gripped me throughout. This was my first book reading this author and getting the next installment is a must! Book provided by NetGalley.
I wanted to like this but it's just too much of a copycat of 50 Shades. I think this trilogy could've been a standalone novel. It really dragged because it was forcing itself to be a trilogy but really didn't have anything going on to sustain 3 books.
Absolutely LOVED this introductory to the Colour of Love Trilogy.
Great characters, awesome storyline and it's loaded with mystery! Why is Johnathon the way he is? Can he ever have a relationship with grace? The build-up and link between these 2 characters are on point; J who's dark & elusive and Grace the naive intern who always sees the positive in everyone. Can she be the one to take J out of the dark and into the light?
This book ended in a cliffhanger and now I'm eagerly waiting to see what happens in book2! This was indeed a great intro read to a new author for me đź‘Ť
What the hell was this? It's marked as erotic romance but there was nothing erotic about it. The only likeable character was pushed to the way way back as an after thought. I get that we are supposed to be all concerned about poor innocent naive Grace but she got herself in to some bad situations all on her own despite warnings from people. There was nothing likeable about Jonathan and honestly, most of the story didn't even go anywhere. We get hints of potential plot but no real development. It also ends on a cliffhanger which isn't even enough this time to get me to continue on in the series. A big old bag of nope here.
I liked the premise of this book but sadly it felt repetitive to me. The writing was good and that was the only thing that kept me reading but sadly the storyline wasn't interesting or original enough to me.

I didn't quite enjoy the story to be honest. It was too much mystery and the big revelation wasn't worth it. The characters, I felt were underdeveloped and weak. And the writing was average.
This book is the first installment in the colors of love series. It tells the story of Grace Lawson and Jonathan Huntington, a wealthy business owner. In a way, it’s a bit similar to the Fifty Shades of Grey series but still so much different.
The characters are complex and for example, Jonathan is still a huge mystery even at the end of the book and it leaves the reader wondering about a lot of things, both about the character and about the story itself and the future of the main characters’ relationship.
Additionally, I really enjoyed the physical chemistry and attraction Grace and Jonathan have for each other. It makes the book so much more enjoyable and easier to read.
As a huge fan of the fifty shades of grey series, I fell in love with the colors of love as well. I couldn’t put the book down before the very and even then I had to start reading the next book in the series straight away, the ending was that good and I had to keep on reading about their love story. All in all, this book was perfect and I can’t wait to read the rest of the books in the series.
Grace is a twenty-two year old economics student that has been awards an internship in London at Huntington Ventures for three months. Grace is a very sheltered and shy. She has not been interested in men yet until she lays eyes on her new boss and the co-founder of Huntington Ventures, Jonathan Huntington. When Grace first sees Jonathan at he airport, she sort of makes a fool of herself assuming that Jonathan is there to pick her up when in fact he is there to pick up a client of his. Jonathan plays it cool though and gives his client and Grace a ride to the office.
Grace meets Annie, the girl that she is going to be working with. They hit it off and Annie soon finds out that she has given a conman her money for her apartment that she thought she was renting. Now Grace has no place to stay but luckily Annie has an extra bedroom that she is willing to let Grace stay in. Annie and Grace become friends and when Annie sees that Grace is falling for Jonathan, she warns her to stay away from him. Jonathan is British royalty and one of the most sought out eligible bachelors in the area. There is just something about Jonathan that Grace can not get out of her mind. Jonathan knows what she likes and how to please her.
Will Jonathan feel the same for Grace as she does for him? This read is full of steam and will keep you turning the pages and fanning yourself. I can't wait to see what is in store for us in the next installment of the Colours of Love series. I hope that the supporting actors in this story get their own story soon. Well done Kathryn Taylor!
The story starts off super slow and boring. It picked up but I just couldn't connect to the characters. If you want something that's somewhat intriguing, with a alpha male that will leave you wanting more, then this is the story for you! Just a waring for you. Theres a nice little cliffhanger for you.
Grace was a virgin in every sense of the word. It’s her first time in London and unfortunately, her supposed residence wasn’t anywhere near existence when she realized she’d been conned. Plus, she actually thought her new boss was at the airport to pick her up for an interview, when in reality, she was just at the right place at the wrong time. Her new boss, the tall, dark and handsome, rich, brooding and so sexy Jonathan Huntington. Little did she know that her little crush on her boss would lead her right into the unending chasm of seduction, mysteries and tangled web of sexual abyss.
This book was first compared to Fifty Shades and I must admit, that statement intrigued me, so I grabbed this book in Netgalley and trod on the unknown. Unfortunately, the book failed to capture my attention. Unbound had me unbounded.
I was maybe expecting too much from the story, given that I was looking for a hint of Anastasia teele or Christian Grey material in the book, but it came a little lacking. Grace Lawson was like a teenage girl who couldn’t control her infatuation. I can’t blame it on her virginity because when she was with her boss, she didn’t act virginal at all. Jonathan Huntington was like a caged cobra who couldn’t control his urges. I wasn’t actually surprised when Jonathan’s deep secret was revealed. I was like, “Oh, so that’s it? I thought it was something else… Wait, so that’s the end.. this was the cliffhanger? ” I don’t usually utter those words when I read a book with cliffhangers. I usually say, “Ohmigosh, when can I read the next book, I need it this instant!” But here, hmmm. I couldn’t bring myself to look forward to the sequel. I’m so sorry, it just didn’t bode well for me.
Unfortunately this never downloaded to my kindle. Cannot review unfortunately
*I won this book on Netgalley for my honest opinion*
This is my first book by this author and I am looking forward to the second book. Yes, this book is similar to Fifty Shades of Grey. You have the rich haunted guy and the naive young virgin. It has those elements and some elements of kinky, however, not to the same degree as Fifty Shades. Depending on how you look at it.
I gave this four stars because the main character, Grace, was some times too unbelievably naive. There were some grammar errors as well.
There definitely were some graphic sex scenes in the book so make sure you read this at home and not in a public place haha oh la la.
Overall, I enjoyed it and had a hard time putting this book down.
She definitely sucked me in and I'll be reading book two at some point
Personally I couldn't get into this story... I just didn't connect with it I guess.
Loved this book, so good! Reminded me of FSOG only better!
I truly enjoy this book, it kept me reading till the end. I would certainly be reading more of this amazing author. I suggest you read it, you will certainly won’t be disappointed.
I've read another books written by this author before and i've loved them, and this one was amazing too. I really love Kathryn's narrative and the characters she writes are unforgettable, so i was really happy to read this novel and can't wait to read another book written by her.
