The second book of Gulley's spin-off series (after the Harmony series) has some definite ups and downs. The church squabbles and misunderstandings are somewhat realistic, but the lack of grace offered by many of the members is discouraging overall. The humor does elevate the book and it is a fun, quick-paced read.

SUMMARY: When elderly Olive Charles passes away, her bequest to the church totals nearly a million dollars. Pastor Sam Gardner has only been in Hope, IN for four months, so navigating the arguments about how to spend the money proves a mighty challenge. Then, Olive's niece challenges the will, and Sam must figure out how to deal with that situation too. All this while dealing with aging parents and some temptations of his own.
