A super cute novella that made me curious to check out the rest of the series! I wanted one last summer romance before fall, so this was perfect. I really enjoyed the set up of them sharing the cabin, and the tension it brought! Also really liked Kat’s job, how it played with Jesse’s history, and how the two came together overall.

I got this one on netgalley in exchange for an honest review :)

Just One Taste by Kimberly Kincaid is the latest in her Pine Mountain series. This is a standalone book but if you are fans of the series you do see a glimpse of some of the other residents in this story. Jesse Oliver is a former Army medic who comes back to Pine Mountain to recover from his service. He decides to get as far away from the medical field as possible by becoming a sous chef. Kat McMarrin comes from a military family with no roots. She came to Pine Mountain every summer as a child. She decides that Pine Mountain is where she is going to put down roots. It also doesn’t hurt that her brother Gabe lives in Pine Mountain. Jesse and Kat both live in the same apartment building. The building floods so they both need new lodgings. Kat’s family has a lake duplex which needs some TLC. She decides to move there temperedly while the apartment is fixed. Unbeknownst to her, Gabe offers Jesse the duplex if he will help fix it up. Can these two discover romance while working to repair the lake house? I enjoyed Jesse and Kat discovering each other while falling in love. I love all the Pine Mountain series. I can’t wait for the next one.
