Once again Shaara shows why he is considered the master of Civil War battlefield fiction. The Fateful LIghtening concludes the war with the burning of Atlanta, Sherman's march, and numerous other campaigns in the final days of the war. His characters are grounded and real to life. His descriptions are vivid. If you are a Shaara fan you will love The Fateful LIghtening. If you are new to Shaara, this would be a great introduction.
