This was a great yoga book. The long introduction was very interesting and explained a lot about the theory of yoga, which is very important for practitioners to know. There was a lot of explanation on the "why" and "how" of different poses. There were also lots of pictures for clear demonstrations of what the poses should look like. This book is marketed as being for intermediate learners, but I felt like it was more for advanced learners. I've been doing yoga for almost a decade, and I hadn't even heard of several of these poses (and they looked almost inhuman). Still, this was a fascinating book and there are plenty of poses I've been happy to incorporate in my yoga practice, but I would encourage beginners to steer clear and take in-person classes to begin with before trying anything like this.
