Dr. Scott James and his associate Dr. Boyd Carey just finished a cosmetic procedure on their secretary, Elizabeth Keys. She is not waking up from the anesthesia, so Scott leaves the surgical room to call home. He tells his wife it will be another late night while he sits with the patient. Just then he hears a noise and returns to the surgical room. He finds the patient still sleeping but Dr. Carey has been stabbed in the neck. There is no one in the surgical center and Scott wonders what happened. He calls Detective Harris to come and investigate. Things go from bad to worse when a policeman is shot when Scott returns to his office to retrieve some paperwork.
Charlie is a drone operator in Afghanistan. He was recruited to stop him from hacking into the systems. He is known as “Alpha Charlie.” They have been searching for Bin Garza, an Al Qaeda leader for two years. Now they have a positive sighting of him and have a chance to take out his number two commander along with him. The drone is released but will it reach the car before it crests the hill.
The book is fast paced, the characters are somewhat developed, and it is written in the first person by Scott, and third person for the rest of the book. This is the first book in the series. I loved it the characters so much, I got the rest of the series. If you like action and adventure with a twist of mystery thrown in, you will enjoy this book and series.
