This story was a lot deeper than what I was expecting. By the name and summary, I was expecting a little forbidden romance with a touch of humor perhaps. I did get the forbidden romance, but there were plot complications and deeper emotions that I didn't anticipate.
I loved the character growth Kennedy goes through in this story. It was very well done, and very believable. The story had some surprises I didn't expect, was at times very romantic, and sad as well. I enjoyed reading this story very much.
This book somewhat threw me off on a loop. I was intrigued to read a New Adult forbidden romance, but this book rarely had any romance. It read more like a coming of age novel with a forbidden romance twist. While it was supposed to be a story about 18yo Kennedy falling in love with her mom's 25yo agent, Noah, the whole plot turned into Kennedy trying to atone for the sins of her mother. This was poorly executed and a disappointing read from Lauren Blakely.
