Thank you Algonquin books and NetGalley for an advanced copy for an honest review. This book details out what happens in the cancer ward. She details how unfair the system can be depending on your insurance or family. She went into great detail and would have liked more personal details. I suppose she might not have been able to detail that because of hippa. It is an eye opening detail for anyone who needs care in the us hospital system.

I think a longer period of time might have been better as whilst I felt I got a feel for some of the pressures of a nurse in the US it didn't go into as much detail or pack the same punch as some other memoirs of this type such as This Is Going To Hurt. Overall, a good read but could have been deeper about patients or care or the system or nursing rather than being a surface level look at all of them.
