I have tried to read this book a couple of time now and I just can't get into it. It isn't a book for me. I can see why people would love it, but we just didn't mesh for some reason. The joy about reading is that that will happen and it is okay.
Trouble is a Friend of Mine is a great young adult read! After Zoe Webster's parents divorce, she and her mom move from the city to a small town. Feeling awkward and out of place, Zoe tries to blend into the background while she bides her time waiting to get into a prestigious private school. Philip Digby has other plans for Zoe, and he insists on pulling her into a variety of schemes all related to the kidnapping of a local girl, which may be connected to the kidnapping of his sister many years previously. Little by little their dynamic duo grows into a posse of friends Zoe never thought she would find.
I really enjoyed Trouble is a Friend of Mine! The characters are multi-layered and interesting. This is the perfect mystery for young adults, who aren't interested in gore and prefer a real-life situation! I have already ordered this book and the sequel for my high school library.
