Very cool idea for a book, and an excellent execution of that idea. A thoroughly enjoyable read. Recommended. .

It did take me a long time to get around to this book, having waited until I was job hunting. Unfortunately the advice is terrible! Having been a hiring manager for numerous positions over many years large quantities of the advice of this book would immediately deter me from hiring an applicant. Anyone appearing at my place of business would be deemed oddly aggressive, unsolicited applications are always thrown in the bin and the idea of someone posting me a CV on fancy paper on the off chance I was too frightened to open an email application (in response to an advert!) is madness, and certainly would have also been madness in 2015 when I received this galley.
DNF after 15% lest I pick up any bad habits!

Bolles's book on job-seeking is a classic of the genre, one that was recommended to me numerous times when I graduated from college, and again when I decided to leave academia. This new and updated version is even more useful for the contemporary job-hunter.

This was recommended by a friend. However, I couldn't get past reading the first few chapters. Mostly the content and the way it was written was aggressive. At this point of me looking for a job I needed something more tailored to helping me set action plans - and this book for now didn't do that.
