I have read all of Boyd's books starting with The Ice Cream War and have loved each one of them. I truly think he will be remembered as one of the finest authors of the late twentieth--early twenty first centuries. Sweet Caress is an intricate telling of twentieth century history through the prism or a woman and photography. Like Any Human Heart, the book is a at both an intimate history and a kalidescopic view of portions of the twentieth century history. Written in clear prose--it is a winner-reccommended.
