I think what I liked most about this book is that Toni has ten siblings, and that Ricky Lee likes her first for her curly hair, such mundane things but they carry so much weight within the story. All of the characters are interesting, so very well developed and add so much to the story. The conflict between the wolf and the jackal add an element of societal norms to the story. The writing is of course superb and I need to read the other stories in this series. An excellent book.
