This is a strong followup to the series debut. In the sophomore edition, there are things brewing beneath the surface--including something sinister in Palisade AND a sky god who only wants to see Dee's return. This was a really nice entry into the Rat Queens lexicon, and if they can keep up the pacing, this should be a really great series!

If you haven't read Volume 1 of Rat Queens, you'll have to read that one first! I remember enjoying it, but I think I enjoyed this one even more because of the action towards the end! I liked that we learn more about all the Rat Queens and their backstory which was much needed. While the beginning of Volume 2 was a little hard to get into, I did end up enjoying it overall. If you aren't connecting with the story in the beginning, stick with it because it doesn't start picking up until around 1/3 of the way through.

I wasn't planning on reading volume 3, but now I'm so invested! I definitely want to find out what happens next because the end of volume 2 was a total cliffhanger.

A rollicking good, old school adventure story that builds up the characters we meet in the first book. It builds up the world in nice ways too so we know that there is much more to come with greater stakes.

to go into another adventure to destroy another cruel enemy. And Dee? She was so freaking amazing in this Volume. And the art? My favorite so far, but I also heard that they changed Illustrators in the next issue and that's freaking me out because of the reason that I love this GN is because of how amazing the art is. We will see.
