There's lots to admire and enjoy about this book; Stafford recounts moments from her own life and the lessons they taught her about living what she calls a 'Hands free life' - intentional, focused on relationships and being aware of the things which distract us from this focus. These lessons are then summarised into affirmation type statements or prayers at the end of each chapter. Unfortunately I found the breathless, overly sincere writing style a bit off-putting after a while, and there is a tendency to belabour what are fairly simple points. This made it hard for me to read Hands Free Life for more than 15 minutes at a time, so for me, it's a book to dip in and out of, or read in small sections.
