I read the first book in the Shadow Falls series many years ago. I liked it even though I did roll my eyes at it a bit for being so stereotypical and trope-y. I never did finish the series or start the spin-off series that this novella takes place in. I recently decided I did not want to finish the original series and decided I may want to look into if I would need to skim read to enjoy this novella. It turns out that it was a story that I didn't really need to read the others to enjoy. It was, just like the first Shadow Falls book, very stereotypical and trope-y. There was tons of girl-on-girl hate, a love triangle, and family drama. The big baddie situation was pretty predictable and convenient.
