I received this book in exchange for an honest review.
Amber has been traveling the world for months now. I'm super jealous btw! Well now she is in Italy and finds herself broke. What's a girl to do but get a job. Amber gets a job teaching 2 seven year old children how to read. Not a bad job, especially since their brother isn't bad to look at. A fun read about a woman finding her place in this world and a guy who needs to escape his small world.
I had forgotten how Karina Halle has this amazing ability to completely draw in her readers to the story that she is writing. You almost feel like you are there in the shadows watching everything take place. You feel all the emotions: anger, heartbreak, sadness, happiness, horniness. She just makes you feel. Racing The Sun is no exception either. Personally I think this is one of the best books of hers that I have read yet, now before you go throwing stones and screaming what about this book or what about that one, I haven’t read everything she has written yet but everything I have read I have loved.
I was drawn into Amber and Derio’s storyline and I didn’t want to put it down even for a minute, although sadly I had to because of those spawns, I mean kids that I have. Remember that feeling of being in the shadows comment I made above, I would have done anything to be able to be there to witness the passion Amber and Derio shared. Hell I just wanted to be in Italy period.
If you haven’t ever read a book of Ms. Halle's I highly recommend that you do because she will take you on a journey that will stay with you in your heart for a very long time.
