This book is a good one, the story is simple and worth reading. I can't say it's a typical story but, it's something worth reading

The message and topics throughout this book are important and the writing is good, but it took a long time for me to read this book. I wish I had read it sooner, but I could not stay focused. Definietly a good read, just not my cup of tea at the moment!

The book did not really work for me. I DNF'ed it. I wasn’t able to connect with any of the many characters in the book and I found myself putting down the book a lot because it was never really catching my attention.

I am working through and clearing out my list of galleys and unfortunately not interested in reading this any more.

April is in love for the first time. And Jonah is all the artsy, intelligent girl like her longs for. And he loves her back. But Jonah also has a big, troubling secret - he is hearing voices.

This topic is very important and I believe that young (and all) people needs to be educated about the mental illnesses - of how hard this fight with the own mind and body is.

The storytelling is nice, too - but sometimes there are some cliches and shortcuts, that made me go out of the story, that I was not so immersed anymore. I understand that this is YA, not Dostoyevsky. But maybe April and Jonah (minus illness) could be a bit less perfect, strong, kind teenagers? Maybe the messages about the "right" things might be less pronounced? And maybe the forgiveness sub-topic might be played more strongly? (my personal preferences, I know).

But having said all that - I was educated here, too. And I am thankful for that.

Beautifully written and stunningly heartbreaking! I was captivated to read this book.

Your voice is all I hear is a YA novel which covers a lot of big topics - first love, mental health, family relationships, school etc. The plot initially moves quite slowly, which gives the impression that not much is happening, until Jonah's issues become apparent. The writing is solid, and the issues important, but unfortunately it just didn't grab me, so I'm not sure it's one that I'll recommend to students. Having said that, I think it may appeal to some readers a lot more than it did to me.
